  2. It tried to keep the car level at all times.
  3. Mr Moos is fluent in German, perhaps it's because he is a German national;-) Moos and Mr Moos often turn up for the EDF monthly drinks.

    Sparrows.

I bet they sit quietly when the sparrow-hawk is doing his rounds. The garden looks uninhabited when the hawks are about.
  9. Good for you!
  10. Went to RHS wisley and saw a tree-creeper which was fun as I hadn't seen one for many years.
  11. Enjoying Glen Miller's swing band! I bought a double CD from Asda for four quid and it has been hours of good listening.

I'm a first generation immigrant born in a hot swarthy country, I guess I should just bin my British passport then huh if that's the welcome I'm given; at least I know where I stand now!!! Sparrows.

I am honoured by frequent visits of a family of sparrows at the nut feeder, but I see far more of the great tits. When I was a lad they were forever making a cacophony of noise but now they are all but silent and no longer a common species.
  16. Where does this guy get off insisting he is British? He was born in Pakistan has a Pakistani name and looks like a Pakistani.............. He was caught "at it" in a tough regime, sorry but I have little sympathy, no one knows how many trips he has previously undertaken laden with smack, and China has the last word! Their land their rules, would that it were so here.
  17. Knowing a King's consultant's first name............

Are you having a dig at David_Carnell's youthful countenance Rosie, rather inappropriate during the festive season, to be sooooooo acid some might argue. To keep on topic, I bought a mini non-stick frying pan for just one egg, for someone who has everything.
  19. We have another like minded flowery prose merchant called Ted Max and you sound similar 'The Eye' good quality scribes both!
  20. If you use a feed, then you shouldn't have to change it at all, I wouldn't have thought... The garden man can confirm, as I'm sure he doesn't change the contents of all of his boxes each and every year.
  21. Spectacles with scratched lenses may be improved by the use of duraglit, which is a strange soggy woolly substance which is manufactured for brass and silver polishing, it also removes scratches from wrist-watch glass too.
  22. Ann wrote:- Have any of you complained to the appropriate authorities? Well I guess some have and some would suffer in silence. The facts are that the performance of the health visitor when my two were babies '87 '90 were exactly as described in earlier posts, all boxes ticked and rush off to the next site. With the first one we only had young and inexperienced nannies, which was rather like employing a dependant child. When the second one arrived we had a mature, intelligent, and industrious nanny which made all the difference in making our busy lives much easier.
