Uniform shop - Grove Vale closing
Peckhamrye replied to shelly2106's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The school uniform shop on Rye Lane is still there. -
Someone's not having a good day pop97 - Happy Christmas.
-
But back to William Rose that is really bad practice - there are a handful of good independent butchers in the area, the bacon at Flock and Herd in Bellenden Road, Peckham is most assuredly English raised and cured.
-
There are different husbandry laws in the UK and Denmark, marginally better here, so British pork and bacon costs more because our pigs have a happier life.

You can get a spray that will disguise the fact she is in season - that and keeping her on a lead should do the trick.

White residue from water - advice please
Peckhamrye replied to magnuss's topic in Request a Tradesperson
The white residue is limescale, not sure about the rust though... -
You can find out the owner of the property for around ?20 by searching on the Land Registry https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry

Greenwich Auction Rooms very bad service
Peckhamrye replied to stringvest's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have had similar experiences with several Auction Houses - they are very unlike the jovial ones portrayed on Flog It, where your precious item is at least talked up a bit. I think private sale is the only way to go if you really want to get the value, rather than just dispose of things. So hard clearing houses for departed relations. -

In the interest of balance I find DMC Chadwick Road OK. You can get repeat prescriptions and appointments online which is very convenient and there hasn't been too high a turnover of GPs recently.

Flats being demolished in Solomons Passage SE15
Peckhamrye replied to joymar's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes, I shudder to think what the effect of the same fire would have been on our neighbours in Solomon's Passage - it was very reassuring that the fire stopping in our car park worked so well, with no flats affected. -

Any recommendations for a nice restaurant in the area
Peckhamrye replied to Judie's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Artusi in Peckham well worth a visit. -
Excellent! They have reached their target - let planning commence!

Well, there is no legal reason why it should be - the question was asked about the Council's money, and that will go to the CIC because councils can't give money to non-constituted bodies. People, like me, who back crowdfund and spacehive projects like this do so knowing there is a risk - if they were solid gold copper bottomed money making machines the banks would fund them. These are projects designed by and for people to provide a service or commodity not make huge amounts of money.

It is ?10k from Southwark Council, not ?65k, and the Lido project is now a CIC - a Community Interest Company which has its own legal responsibilities and accounting procedures, primarily answerable to Company Law.
