  1. I read, I think in the very long White Stuff thread to which you refer, that the shop next door is going to be a shoe shop, possibly a children's one. Nero
  2. Change sex? Nero :))
  3. -- moved topic --
  4. *Sits back, enjoys the spectacle* Nero
  5. Where is it exactl, ie. in relation to Co-Op or barber's shop? Nero
  6. I didn't take you to sound like a ****, and now I realise that starting my sentencing with 'well comma' sounds very indignated, which I wasn't. Such is virtual communication! Nero
  7. I don't think the park will be a sad place. It'll be a place where at least one very sad thing happened. It's generally a good place to be, I think. Nero
  8. Well, most of those around Broomwood Road are very nice indeed. Nero
  9. This is very sad news indeed. I hope his family and friends are able to do their best to deal with this tragedy. If there is one practical thing anyone can do after hearing this news it's to really understand that depression is a killer and to try to reach out to people who go through it, whatever its guise. Nero
  10. Is a 'top' a splash of lemonade or cordial? I've never really understood, and feel a bit embarrassed to say so. Nero
  11. I agree with MM. There is a lot of diversity in East Dulwich. I often see elderly people, pass by houses that remind me of my mum's and nana's in a working-class areas of Stockport and hear different languages spoken. Some of the houses near to me in the Upper East Side, on Crystal Palace, Dunstan's and Friern Road even look down at heel. I've never thought that E D will become like Clapham where practically every house is House and Garden'd. Nero
  12. Surely the most stupid criminals were the teenagers who robbed the Co-Op on Forest Hill Road , their local convencience store at the end of their road. They were found really easily by the police with thousands of quid in their bedrooms. The dangerous thing is that they had live weapons. Young, stupid and armed. Nero
  13. Robinson's of Stockport. Cock Robin is lovely. (Titter ye not.) Nero
  14. I haven't been to the Dulwich Baths in ages. It is always so hot and humid, and the metal clothes lockers are bathed in condensation. It is a shame as it is a good sized pool and not too chlorinated. Nero
  15. Let's get the facts straight. If you break the law and are caught, then you pay the price. The fact that the authorities are sometimes very adept at catching the law breakers, for example, by employing people to look out for violators, is irrelevant. I agree with Sean. A mistake is very different from taking a chance, and I have no sympathy for anyone who is ticketed for breaking the law, unless the rules are not posted clearly. But I do agree that sometimes the laws are unfair and badly applied. Nero
  16. I've said it once, and I'll say it again - tell our Tessa. It takes it up a notch when you involve the local MP. It might take time but she would probably write to a government department that has responsibility for the Royal Mail. Yes, it sounds very creaky and time-consuming, but at least it is official and the very highest-ups are involved. Nero
  17. I don't think it is the Bill actor who was in it for ages. It's someone else, I think. Nero
  18. Saw the Tracey-from-Corrie actress today in SMBS. And, help me out here, there's a bloke who is an actor and looks a bit like Oliver Tobias but has a more-cleft chin, dark hair, tall and broad. I have seen himm around a few times on LL and just can't place him and it's annoying. Anyone know who I mean? Nero
  19. I agree. It shows just how user-friendly English is. Unfort, people started to use VCR a few years ago, which was very US-English, but since VCR's/videos are a dying breed, the term shouldn't be around for that much longer. Nero
  20. Val Shawcross is the GLA's woman on transport. Why not write to Tessa Jowell, including this link so she knows it's not a one-off. She's obliged to reply and, IMHO, has helped me over some issues. Otherwise, there is a phone number yhou can ring for customer services. It's posted up near the ticket office. It'll take a bit of time, but at least it is something you can do. Nero
  21. I'd give them a bell, if not write to them, explaining you've put it up on this forum. It'll at least let them know. Nero
  22. Or it could be the irony-police out in pre-emptive force. Nero
  23. There was police tape around the outside of the video shop about an hour ago, and an officer inside and a police car outside. Not sure what went on. Nero
  24. Well, I think you can turn off the heating bar. I've seen other bus drivers do it. Nero
  25. I complained, at the end of the journey, to the driver of a 40 heading to the library that the heating bar was on upstairs. He said it wasn't and it was hot because of the weather, in a really couldn't-be-arsed way. I said he was lying probably because he couldn't care less. His attitude was infuriating, so I obv. got infuriated. Another very unpleasant experience on E Dulwich public transport. Nero
