Hope you are enjoying all the nice places to shop for junk and drink awful coffee Dulwichmum. Pathetic jibe by the way, really shows off just how ignorant you are eh? Probably an inbred xenophobe to boot. Seeing as I have a good property worth over 300k with no mortgage to pay and the freedom to move back somewhere where the people are a lot more open minded, far less xenophobic and even better less annoying than your ilk >:D< is a nice position to be in. Lozzyloz, I believe there are a few places with Royce on sale here, although I doubt you will find the seasonal specials they do, but may of course be wrong on that. I'll rustle up some links and pm you them later :)-D

A lot of the tastiest Japanese dishes are not available in restaurants, even in Japan. Thankfully my better half is an excellent cook, and has even turned her hands to Korean and Italian fare in the last 5 years. Marrying outside the gene pool sure has some great benefits! There's quite a a lot of Japanese cookbooks in English now too so don't be afraid to give it a try..

I rather like 'chains' coming to East Dulwich (Lounged)

Who in ED is happy to spend ?4.50 on a loaf of bread?
Shu.Kurimu.Sensei replied to Curmudgeon's topic in The Lounge
I suppose the loafs actual cost is a quid, the rest is idiot tax? :)) -
I liked the "ghost town" vibe. The area certainly looked and most importantly felt a thousand times better than it does now. Am lucky in the sense that at least I have the option of moving back to a wonderful part of North Japan in the future which is looking increasingly likely, its a whole lot more down to earth than ED has become plus the food and telly are 1000x better >:D<

Oh no! Not another thread about Foxtons! (another letter)
Shu.Kurimu.Sensei replied to waste warrior's topic in The Lounge
Wouldn't it just be easier to just torch the place? Everyone hates it and their bloody cars, everyone hates topics about the place clogging the forum up, so get the pitchforks and petrol bombs out and burn it with fire! Alternatively the East Dulwich Bag design could have a line saying "Against bloody estate agent cars and ponces in cheap suits and bad haircuts" on it? -
If you'd like to see more of Shibuya on film, do check out this great show: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Sh15uya I enjoyed it, and has some great music to boot.Especially reccomended if you liked the (criminally overlooked) Dark City, itself "inspired" by an old series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megazone_23 along with some late 70s cyberpunk.

I know what you mean, but I like it as it is, a nice quiet pub with great staff, decent beer and good grub! :)) There's tons of good cinemas less than an hour from East Dulwich, the Electric in Brixton and the Prince Charles spring to mind. Also there's not one decent working class pub left in East Dulwich they've all been ruined, so lets hope this one is left alone eh?

No love for Roots Manuva? One of the most talented artists I've ever come across...:)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3waF0o9rt3w -
Thanks to Woodie :)-D I'm going to see The Woodentops http://www.myspace.com/thewoodentops and Anchorsong at the Water Rats in Kings Cross. To be honest I haven't been to a gig in years and years so am pretty hyped up about it as its a great combination of styles and the venue is apparently great from what I've read. I reckon the place is gonna be absolutely packed and it'll probably be like that time I saw Clerks at the Prince Charles cinema when I was laughing like mad and this American bird whispered to me "Is this your first time"? I nodded then she shouts out "Clerks Virgin!!" and everyone turned round and laughed..:)) Brendan you spoony bard! Klaxons eh? Do tell what it was like cos they are bloody amazing! :))

Any director that thinks people are going to watch his film more than once, twice even has an overinflated ego. Life is too short to watch any film more than twice I reckon. And I was referring to the visual artist, not the director :) . Never been to Hartlepool, is it really that bad? ::o

Or it might have been Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds :)) But seriously, we live in a multi-verse, so pretty much anything can happen, that's my view. Waves to the sun for giving birth to us all :))

Nice one Sean, thanks for that... Its pretty rare to find an album you can listen to from start to finish these days. The only other recent example I can give (in English) would be the ep from Reverend and the makers which is simply stunning!:)) -

Do you have a picture you could post here? Hope your kitty turns up, we hate it when one of our two go walkabouts and don't come home every now and again.. -
Maybe those insect sized spy bots pretty much every intelligence agency has been working on the last 15 years? They have had positive sightings in Washington recently.

The book is a must-read, on the first read you may hate it, but a second reading helps put everything into perspective. Rudy Rucker put out some pretty funky material along similar lines, his Wetware books may melt your brain a bit, I suppose he was on mescaline while writing but are a great companion to Do Androids...I had a most enviable collection of sci-fi and cyberpunk from that period up till say 1990 but gave all my fiction away some years ago when I hit 30. I figured half my life is over so better to dedicate it to learning instead ;-) . This remake got a cinematic showing in the states, but for some reason a lot of places didn't end up screening it...Would be great at the Imax or Sunset House (is that right? The tax office place with the ice rink in winter). If you've ever been to Shibuya or read a fair few French pilled up fantasy comics you'll see where Syd Mead found a lot of his inspiration..

How about a water pistol? Or egging them? :)

My mother in law in Japan is easily the warmest, funniest, kindest most inspirational person I've ever met.

His wife ran away. And if he likes you he can be incredibly kind. The attitude of a lot of "newcomers" really gets his goat up. I used to buy matchbox cars there when the owner was different about 30 years ago... -
Got a camera phone? Or a small digicam? Post some pictures on here so everyone can have fun with Photoshop, imagine their surprise when their kids or mates see their stupid faces on a public image board >:D<...

Maybe not a gnome, perchance could it be.... A troll? B) http://www.mninter.net/~richard/Please%20do%20not%20feed%20the%20trolls.jpg Apologies if this is not the case..:)) EDIT: Still, I'd take a troll over a grammar nazi http://www.houstonrockshow.com/macros/grammar-nazi.jpg any day of the week, at least Trolls can be amusing :)-D

Hiya Barry, cheers! :)-D Not sure if "The 1990s" were mentioned here yet? Their album was very hit and miss, but the high points are glorious.. The Aliens were at Glastonbury Sean? Wow, must find a clip...That must have been wonderful to see live! My old man by Ian Dury is a wonderful song, always brings a tear to the eye. Ever hear that Beck song where it sounds like its been mixed through a sequencer whose sound chip came from a superfami? Great stuff... In fact, it looks like there are a fair few gamers here, so if you like your chip tunes a bit more refined than Sid rips or Amiga mod files, do check out.... http://www.8bitpeoples.com/ http://www.ymck.net/english/index.html http://aprils.jp/en/ http://5pb.jp/famison8bit/ http://www.metroidmetal.com/ http://www.theadvantageband.com/ To name a mere few... >:D<
