If you want to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme, you'll find James Barber and the SNT PS Turnbull very helpful and supportive. PM me if you want more information.

Personal alarms (also known as rape alarms) produce a very loud noise when set off. We got them free from the police when setting up the Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Pellatt Rd.

I wasn't too impressed with being woken up at 4am with noise continuing until just before 7am. I thought Southwark was doing night time road works. I cannot understand what a Madonna and child have to do with a pub which has a picture of a carrot on the side of the building..

Personal alarms were being given out in Pellatt Rd when setting up the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

lameduck, if you have a look at the 'several attepmted break ins' thread, it might give you see if it's the same people/car..

Could the car have been the silver Subaru reg GJ56HXV mentioned on another thread to do0 with burglaries? It had a noisy engine too.

Are there any skips around where she was mugged? The driving licence might be there.. Poor thing, I hope she gets over it quickly.

Should Melbourne Grove be 20mph?
singalto replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live in a street with a 20 mph restriction. I often hear cars tearing down the road at speed and, in fact, my 15 month old cat was killed by a speeding motorist. The 20 mph zone makes no difference here. -

buddug, if you did become a local councillor, I'd move. Your attacks on James are way beyond what is acceptable. He is a local councillor, not our MP. Now there is someone who seems to me to do nothing for her constituants. The so called bedroom tax is a national issue, not a local one. -
T25 VW stolen overnight from Upland Rd 11.10.12
singalto replied to Paulo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That's the second one stolen in the area in 2 days. That's a worry. It has just been announced on the news that the production of these vehicles is stopping so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.. I hope it turns up. -

Msybe someof you could remember that we have an MP who might be in a stronger position to do something about the national issues rather than attack James about everything that you disagree with. He is a great local councillor, not Batman. -

I teach in a Southwark primary school and am horrified by the amoubnt of food wasted by the children at lunch time. -

James Barber has been incredibly helpful when setting up a neighbourhood watch scheme. He works his socks off for our ward. -
'Chuggers' door to door tonight
singalto replied to Earl Aelfheah's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have a sticker on the door saying 'No cold callers' but it makes no difference at all. Chuggers etc still ring the bell. -
He came and rescued me during last winter's cold spell, fixing my faulty boiler at very little expense. I would recommend him.

East Dulwich Kitten found far from home
singalto replied to fromthedarkside's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
fromthedarkside I think you're brilliant making so much effort over the kitten. I know how hard it was when my cat was missing. Thankfully, I got her back. I hope her owner gets her back very soon. -

Could the kitten not have lost the collar? Doesn't the microchip give the full details of the owners?
