Although in 99% of cases it'll be alright - Mad not too - IMO. just insurance against the horror stories of those that tried to do it on the cheap. I like his story that despite his long term abstinece he still keeps booze in his house for guests etc but they alwauys get completley pissed becuase he pours such big measures from his drinking days.
