  3. Has anyone seen Ted? He popped out to the garden a couple of hours ago to admire my roses.
  4. yeah, close the door on your way out.
  5. Our eldest two sort of ask every so often but they also seem pretty indfferent to the answers, so we tell them in a fairly general way and that seems to be that (at the moment)
  6. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The East Dulwich Dads would be a nice one to > ressurect. > Especially as those seasonal babies clubs things > seem pretty hostile to us male types. ...but it was noticeable for its general blokey crapness ie one event and then no-one could be bothered to organise it again......unless I missed some more?

  10. 100k in 2007 is equivalent to 89k now.Inflation eats it away....and we've had relatively low inflation...so far
  11. can't you do something using icloud?
  12. Anyway, all this stuff get's the same answer Q; Should pensioners/families/those on benefits/retired doctors/students etc etc get lots of money? A; Yes of course Q how will we pay for it? A1; Go away you Tory scum etc etc A2; the rich* *anyone richer than me......in reality far fewer tha you'd think.
  13. Agree, it's a pipe dream Jeremy. The capital costs for a proper 3 screen cinema that the OP proposed plus the running costs won't compute to a few dozen posters on the EDF saying they'd like it. Go and ask the Montepleeier etc if their showings are worth doing 7 nights a week. We ain't the catchment area or transport links for this. How many independent Cinemas are there in London and where are they? That's what I'd be asking first. I think there's a handfull and they are in bigger, buzzier, better linked places than SE22
  14. I'm not sure the survey actually asks those qusetions MM, I think it just asks participansts to assess what they think is an minimum adequate allowance? The comments about this minimum decent wage are then added by the usual suspects. Can of worms and really difficult issues. In all honesty the amount seems about right to me, but does that meany every individual/family shpould get this? if so it's pie in the sky, money tree thinking, the country can't afford it. My belief is that work needs to be rewarded and my preference is thst this done by taking less tax off the individual/family that are working than by giving it back via tax credits or benefits so there has to be signifcant differences between income from work and non work and the result of that will be an incraese in the gap between those on benefits and the rest. The raising of the tax allowance for low income workers to hopefully ?10k is the best things that the Lib Dems have bought to the table as far as I'm concerned. I also have changed my view on the minimum wage thinking that it is a neccessity now to rewerd work - I'd also like all businesses in the UK to have to say whatt they pay as a minimum wage oversaes and in the UK plus the gap between highest and lowest earners, UK consumers can then make their choice about buying from companies ethichally if they so choose. We, people, consumers, ulitmately have the power so stop monaing aboiut the banks and move your account to the co-op etc. Sorry, very quick response but a start.

  23. Thanks everyone some graet pointers. Parkview you are welcome to your opinion, and that's all it is (no science) but a bit too ramming it down other people's throats methinks. My kids will continue to play computer games (a bit), watch TV (a bit) and jump in muddy puddles (a bit)...I suspect that they'll turn out alright. Personally I get frustrated with people telling me how to bring up my children based on how they want to bring up theirs.
  24. Thoroughly looking forward to it. Kind of understand how people who don't get sport (but I don't understand them) are moaning but FFs it's a fantastic global event that we haven't hoasted for 50 years and we'll do a good job. Really is bah humbug crap people monaing about how it will make their journey into work a bit shit. Miserable foookers.
