  1. CGC - Denman 4.5 is tempting as is Imperial Commander EW at 15
  2. or 'no slam winner' at 6.5?
  3. Why didn't you just bet England to beat France? That'd hedge it properly.
  4. knew it was you daizie
  5. If you're gonna have a hotel in Camberwell then Church Street's ok but the bingo hall up on Camberwell Road!
  6. Midfileder is nearer all areas of play. Midfielder is nearer all players (including opposition) Midfielder can better influence attacking set pieces without compromising defensive duties
  7. In younger days I have occasionally kissed the telly - does that count?
  8. I have stayed in a couple and they are good....yanks absolutely love 'em but they like big chains....tomato/tomatoe ;-)
  9. Aren't we just highlighting various leadership qualities? Inspiration Organisation Intelligence Great captains have a good mixture of all 3 - Moore, Alberto, spring to mind. Many decent captains are srtong in just one or two. I'd go Gerrard.
  10. "So we're agreed, HonaB goes"
  11. Our little girl (4.5) has always been a pretty early riser but it's now averaging 5.30am, as it has been most of the dark winter mornings! 6am is a result! I'm especially noticing this as Mrs Quids is doing all our new ones feeding etc so I'm doing all the morning shift with our other 2 (our boy is 2 and would and sometimes does sleep far later). Any suggestions how we can try and push this back or is she just a lark (annoying for an owl like me)? She's started school so energy should be burning away She doesn't sleep in the day She sleeps well... until she wakes in the morninfg, very little night waking We've tried later nights (she currently goes to bed at 7pmish). They don't seem to alter this and obviously it's a struggle to keep her awake beyond 7pm with her early starts! Any ideas?
  12. I see you are in admin tomorrow Ratty so that's relegation but I guess you'll be pleased if you survive as a club as they've suspended the wind up for now. I'm not lying when I say I can think of about 18 other clubs in the premiership I was rather in your position. Proper club and supporters.
  13. Loads of money floating about becuase of QE and historically low interest rates Lack of supply Buying houses looks ok looking at a payment of say 3.5% interest for a mortgage(if you can get the deposit or trade up etc) For 'investors' nowhere to put their money really. = PRICES UP Coming soon - tax raises, increased unemployment, continued underemployment, decrease in public spending, likely run on pound and resulting increase in inflation (we import practically everything) but not enough to really inflate away big debts (like mortgages), subsequent increase in interest rates and people just forget how low they are if base rate goes even to about 4.5% we'll start seeing significant repossessions. Prices fall. The markets still overpriced and the current rise is a classic dead cat bounce (I'd say the same for the stock market too). All my opinion obviously. BTW, inflation is mainly bad because of what it does to savers and those on fixed incomes such as many occupational pension holders.
  14. I know a pub called "The Village", It's on the Barking Road....never has a pub been so innapproriately named.

  20. As CharlieC might point out GOOGLE
  21. I do personally give him credit for BoE independence AND some of the initial stimulus measures against potential catastrophe, although I still think they're sticking plaster whilst we hope something else turns up. As I said, Osbourne is thoroughly unconvincing though.
  22. A few just straightforward ones Sean directly as a result of Gordon Won't listen to other advice - Sold off our gold reserves when the market was at rock bottom (and against Treasury advice) Believed his own boom and bust hype - Kept with the Tory rules on budget defeceit until 2000/01 then went on a spending spree and put NOTHING aside for a rainy day, that's unusual during periods of surplus (it may even be unprecedented) Tax on pension funds absolutely buggering up already pretty poor performing private pensions - Public Sector workers and of course himself won't be affected by that. We could also mention giving the financial markets free reign above what Thatcher did - It was Labour and the Democrats wot did that not the 'Neocons' But, politically he's been pretty cute as it is all the bankers fault or an international recession...wasn't international when it was strong growth of course, it was his brillian stewardship.
  23. Cole is an absolute tosser but the best left back in the world
  24. There was an interesting documantary/film on this back in the 80s 'east end tales' or something featuring a group of knockers from East London, most of whom were well known West Ham hooligans
