  1. I noticed a sign up in the FHT yesterday that says they are showing FREE movies every Sunday night at 8pm March is booked up with several Coen Brothers Classics and April is Jim Jarmusch season with seemingly lots of ideas for beyond then - think I'll definitely pop along to a few of these. Big Lebowski night anyone?
  2. Techinically Peckham before the postcode police come knocking but I know lots of people on here go a lot Oh and I did a search for the word "rye" which I expected to throw up a bazillion results about the park and lane but zilch.... aaaaaanyway Popped in on the way to Omrith last night and saw a notice on the door abouut them being shut from 1st-9th March for a revamp. Then Scott & Diane (owners) showed up and showed me a preview. Think BRIGHTER Now I like the Rye as it is juuuust fine thank you very much but there is no question there are some dark dead-spots at the mo so I'm looking forward to seeing this
  3. * whistles * Oh - this reminds me... * finds a thread about the Rye and the news concerning *
  4. opposite of clever. just wrong. I knew he is NHS himself and I just blurted out GP Sorry...
  5. yep, and misquoting too I said "should be prepared to list and adapt" - not the same as "should adapt" And not sure about the obsession with freedom. Do we need to bring out the hoary old cliche about free speech and shouting fire in a theatre? Too many of the later lately
  6. It's all about the Deadwood baby. Be prepared for 3 more hours of "what are they saying? I can't understand a thing!" tho. And the shock of Ian Lovejoy McShane swearing like a motherf*****
  7. really???? Do you think someone has got the wrong impression of it from the layout? Seems a bit weird that a hospital would block a GP site but stranger things have happened I suppose
  8. between 3 and 4 is amazing - the first time I did it I was in shock. Talk about tartrazined up to the eyeballs... I've witnessed schoolkids take the mickey out of older people before - anyone over 25 is fair game to them - but to be honest they are always nice as pie to me. I think you do need to develop a bit of street smarts to be honest - and I hope you don't think that's me saying it was your fault poppy. But I am surprised you think this is unusual behaviour on London buses. And if they see people who they think can't remember what it was like to be young..... But have a cup of tea and a chat on here - you'll feel better later.
  9. We'll file that one under "boisterous" shall we?? Biggest night yet, in the smallest curry house yet - I'm not sure they are used to dealing with parties of 20 but apart from a few delays (all dealt with with charm by the waiters) it was a top night
  10. And yet several people who dont use that petrol station have also been cloned I agree that the circumstantial evidence weighs against it. . But given that there are pages of people warning against using the machine there and yet people continue to do so i begin to wonder what the point is
  11. I believe FX channel in the UK are showing all 5 series again starting with ep 1 series 1 on Monday night
  12. oh my word YES x 10. Good shout Amysdad - that is a great sauce and I have found nothing like it anywhere
  13. So many replies I could give to this one but I'm just going to play safe.... and say that is an outrageous statement young lady! (and less true than it used to be -but the Mag girls are lovely!)
  14. A bank confirming a cloned card was used at Location X proves no more than where it was USED - it gives no indication as to where your card was cloned. It could have been any number of places - and as I say, the garage makes it the ideal spot to drive up, use the card and scarper quickly. Much more so than the bank machines on LL. That seems to be a more obvious factor in the garage's regular mention
  15. and if those people go elsewhere the downside is?
  16. Someone of a Mockney persuasion, who has been exiled tothe gulags by his workplace thought it was time y'all heard this hey Snow White and he wasn't wrong
  17. You really did fill up that hump of hate good and proper didn't you snorks?
  18. This is too easy strawbs. . Not always diplomatic
  19. pretty much everything that there is to say on all sides re: dogs and muzzles and leads and ooooh everything can be found here (previously on EDF)
  20. I'm not saying he IS - but he sure seems to be holding something in...
  21. sorry mike - i wasn't trying to suggest it was hearing from a mate. I would say ALL of the main news sources (broadsheet and tabloids papers, mainstream TV news, including C4 news) are all guilty of splashing these stories All I can recommend is reading the badscience website - or better, buying his book - it's fantastic
  22. sounds good to me Tone, but we're off topic here! Back to the thread - I was kindly PM'd to suggest that my previous post was less than clear so here goes I agree with the OP completely - it's the attitude described by the OP (ie the couple with the dog) I deplored
  23. Asset Several threads about hotties in bars have been started without any such accusations - i think one or two did cross the line which is what might have provoked a reaction - so I don't think it's that imbalanced
  24. "hearing things" isn't really good enough tho, is it? More headline splashes and selected medical papers based on flimsy research. Smoking shouldn't be banned anyway - if people want to without bothering others why shouldn't they. And again with the bean counters thing - I'm sure the costs to the NHS wipe out plenty of that "profit" And why choose fumes from buses and not all the cars with one person in them?
  25. I hate dogs - was attacked a couple of times when I was young and stories like this make me no happier. But I know lots of people love them yadda yadda - don't want to turn this into a pro v anti thread But the attitude described by the OP is out of order
