  1. If memory serves me correctly Patrick Vieira accused Neil Ruddock of racism a few years back, during a rather unpleasant exchange which saw Vieira spitting at "Razor"? Ian Wright also famously accused Peter schmeichel of racism during a typically friendly encounter.

At the other end of the spectrum, Arsenal supporting Tony Adams after his prison sentence for drink driving, and Paul Merson after admitting his addictions to drink, drugs, and gambling. Oh and Paul Davis after breaking an opponents jaw.

But it shouldn't have to come to that, should it? Why can people like this not understand how distressing for others their actions can be.

If this is true it's a horrible turn of events, and it'll be interesting to see what investigation, if any, is undertaken and if proven, what punishment is dished out. I sincerely hope we don't continue to hear more of these stories, it is morally reprehensible and has no place in todays society.
  5. Sports journo says to Sir Alex after the game, whats worse, the scoreline or the fact that you were at home, he replies, "six of one and half a dozen of the other". :)-D
  6. Has anyone heard about the sick swan in the Manchester area?

  8. Oh it happened, and what makes you think that the City fans will let you forget this EVEN IF you win the title. This will be etched in their memories forever. As to whether or not they have the character and resilience, which some seem to believe is unique to Manchester United, to win the league, only time will tell. As a betting man. I wouldn't bet against City. On a scale of 1 to 6, how do you rate yesterdays performance?
  9. David Silva is currently the best player in the Premiership. He certainly enjoyed his day at the "theatre of dreams", for him it certainly was!!!!!
  10. City are now the force to be reckoned with in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see what, if any, excuses Sky will try to come with to explain away such a hammering. Being at home, you would expect Manchester United to show some of that much vaunted resilience and character when up against it.
  11. In the mean time both City and United fans are being urged to dispose of his shirt. Do they still burn witches in that neck of the woods? Fact is often stranger than fiction. How times have changed especially as both clubs were so keen to sign him. I guess this gives credence to the saying "be careful what you wish for".

Good wins for Chelsea and Arsenal this evening, and both top their groups. I hope you're not a betting man red devil.

They were held for long periods of the game by the resolute Romanians. The clash is nicely poised between the blue and red sections of Manchester this coming weekend.

I've not suggested for one moment that the "alleged" racism, and let's not forget it is just that at the moment, but I don't like to see cheating, diving, nor do I like to see the imaginary card being brandished. All forms of bad sportsmanship.

  18. I would have done the same as Amoeba, but it is sad that youngsters of that age should act that way. And there is a clear difference between youthful high jinx and down right obnoxious brats, and these would seem to fall in to the latter category rather than the former. This is indicative of society in general where confrontation and an absence of courtesy and good manners is common place and, more worryingly, is accepted as the "norm".
  19. It's hard to believe, if the accustaions are true, that such behavious still exists, but it is still rife in places like Eastern Europe. On the the flip side of the coin, waving an imaginary card around is not like to win much support from anybody. Not as despicable as racial abuse but unwelcome nontheless.

  21. Excellent goals on Sunday, Ameobi, Defoe, Larson, and Van Persie all excellent. How Newcastles fortunes have changed in a short period of time. Very pleased for the Toon faithful.
