If Blatter really believes racism doesn't exist in football, he should take a look at the footage of Besiktas fans pelting Eboue with all sorts of missiles at the weekend. Disgraceful. Regardless of what you think of him as a footballer, he is a human being, and nobody deserves that sort of treatment. It'll be interesting to see what if any action is taken against the club.

There's currently a video clip of Alex Ferguson on the Sky website with the caption that says he belives Blatters apology is enough. Really? If he did indeed say something along those lines it's a very sad day for sport, and not just football.

While this story doesn't surprise me, I do find it very sad but nonetheless indictaive of the lack of respect for anybody or anything in modern society.

Wasn't there a similar episode of alleged racism between Peter Schmiechel and Ian Wright some years back? Can't remember the outcome of that one.

Agreed, and why it has taken the footballing authorities this long to get these two issues sorted is beyond me.
