  1. Sir Alex underestimated his opponents yesterday, and paid the price. When a journalist put it to him that the Manchester clubs had struggled in Europe, he seemed to take offence and promptly left. And this comes just after he kissed and made up with the BBC. After watching Real Madrids' B team destroy Zagreb last night, you'd have to fancy them to go all the way. Bayern Munich are also worth a punt.

Still, Benefica and Napoli, class > outfits. Certainly proves that spending obscene amounts of money isn't always the answer. But at least Nasri showed he has good taste, what a mighty fine pair of undies. Is that the best he can do on ?200k a week?
  3. If Blatter really believes racism doesn't exist in football, he should take a look at the footage of Besiktas fans pelting Eboue with all sorts of missiles at the weekend. Disgraceful. Regardless of what you think of him as a footballer, he is a human being, and nobody deserves that sort of treatment. It'll be interesting to see what if any action is taken against the club.

  5. There's currently a video clip of Alex Ferguson on the Sky website with the caption that says he belives Blatters apology is enough. Really? If he did indeed say something along those lines it's a very sad day for sport, and not just football.

Q. What's a Greek Urn? A. About 75p a week. With thanks to the late Morecmabe & Wise Alternatively - Man goes into his doctor and says "I've broken my arm in 3 places" doctor replies "Well, don't go to those places!!" Tommy Cooper was a genius.
  7. While this story doesn't surprise me, I do find it very sad but nonetheless indictaive of the lack of respect for anybody or anything in modern society.
  8. Wasn't there a similar episode of alleged racism between Peter Schmiechel and Ian Wright some years back? Can't remember the outcome of that one.
  9. Agreed, and why it has taken the footballing authorities this long to get these two issues sorted is beyond me.

  13. You can buy alcohol from petrol stations which seems to be a bit of a paradox.
  14. In the unlikely event Blatter goes, is there a danger we could end with Platini?
  15. Has Blatter signed his own death warrant? Please god.

Deal with it! Yes, I should have called him Stevie implying I'm a mate. Give me strength.
