Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That was never a red! I would agree with that on the basis that Kompany won the ball cleanly without even touching the opposition player, and have to agree Rooney getting in the refs face put pressure on him to produce the card. City showed that characteristic that Sky would have you believe is unique to Man Ure, "character". 11 a side I think Citeh would have won the game. Still the Liverpool V Man Ure should be tasty. What's the score with the Liverpool fan dishing out racial abuse to an Oldham player. Worrying trend if true.

The Arsenals nil nil draw at St James park earlier this season with only 10 men doesn't seem so bad now. Ferdinand was given the run around last night, looked awful.

Let me get this straight, do you believe that the defendants are innocent and that they've been "set up" by the press and police. I trust your view isn't tainted by the experience described in another thread on this forum?

Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > He is a cheat, obviously. It will always leave a > slight tarnish on his reputation. Obviously I think the guy is a god, but lets try and be objective here. Did the nation that had the very very very dodgy penalty awarded against them, which gave the Irish the opportunity which they duly converted, gave them the chance to face France, make as much fuss as the Irish did about the Henry incident? Do they also continually refer to it in the same way that the English do about the Maradonna incident (lets not forget the little swan dive Michael "the bench warmer" Owen went in for against Argentina some years later eh?) Do the Brazilians carp on about the way Pele was disgracefully kicked out of a world cup decades back? If they do, then I would repeat my previous advice to move on. But I'm not sure they are that bothered.

I watch my club week in week out, not my country, nor do I spend time, money and emotion following the fortunes of my country, so take a wild guess and guess where my loyalties lie. Club versus country is a nonsense.

maxxi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Makes me wonder how Irish Gooners are feeling > right now.... club or country? Returning Hero or > Cheating Tosser? The thing about that is that Ireland were fortunate to be playing France at that stage. They had previoulsy got a very very dubious penalty which got them to that stage, so lets not forget that before we go the route of accusing others of cheating. So Thatcher was "honourable" eh? Is that what you call some that has dealings with a mass muderer? It has a different meaing where I come from.

Despicable. Like I said I'll shed no tears for her in the same way she was that she was indifferenr to the murders of Chilean civilians.

Suarez hasn't covered himself in glory here but then nor has Dalglish and Liverpool. Can't see on what basis Liverpool can appeal. Nice see that nasty little mercenary get subbed after another anonymous performance. I bet Citeh are glad they managed to lever him away from the Arsenal.
-
I for one will shed no tears over a person that had close dealings with Pinochet.
