  5. You also can't specify age in a job advert, it's against the equality act and is discriminatory.
  6. Hi I am looking for someone/some people to sort out my small but very overgrown garden. Have had some bad experiences in the past with people not showing up or doing half a job- so someone with some references would be preferred! Thanks
  7. HI I am looking for a hairdresser able to come to mu house to do my hair, plus two others. Any recommendations. Not looking for anything complicated or traditional. Thanks

  12. Great Exhibition do a bottomless brunch I think - I have never been - but in terms of space it would work !
  13. The Cherry Tree is the pub of choice for most fans before and after the game. Behind the goal is the best spot for singing and getting involved. It's a great atmosphere - enjoy!
  14. I'm holding a charity quiz tonight at the Ivy house for Reverse Rett - www.reverserett.org.uk. Starting at 8pm ?2 entry per person with. ?20 bar tab for the winner. 15. another vote for Arundel - stayed in a lovely cottage there walking distance to the town. The white swan (I think that is its name) does great food too.
  16. That is a bit rubbish. I have wheels that have an anti-theft lock - you have to turn the bike upside down to steal them, I also have a strong D lock . I think multiple locks is sadly the way to go - as your bike will look more of a hassle to steal than other bikes. Sadly nowhere is completely safe!
  17. It is awful - I commute to Haywards Heath and back everyday. It is taking me nearly 2 hours a day to get home sometimes. If I could walk or get a bus I would. It's a bit far though!
  18. I have had a similar letter from Lewisham for my ex-council flat. Now that I have paid for them to do it up - they want me to sell it to them...
  19. I love that activewear video! always makes me smile.... thanks for sharing!
  20. thanks uncleglen - I will give the Leaseholders Advisory Service
  21. I am wondering if anyone has any experience of challenging the quality of work done as part of major works programmes through Lewisham council. I am a leaseholder who is facing a large bill for work. Some of the work is not a good standard though the council are telling me that they have checked it and are happy with it. any advice appreciated.
  22. I have been on once - it is a great improvement but could do with some different tables/furniture to stop it looking like a classroom/make it a bit comfier. Haven't eaten there yet but am happy to see it is busy and hoping it sustains itself ! The price of food generally in the area can be a bit steep.
  23. The French Caf? and Norris and Knight on Forest Hill Rd are great. Agree that canvas and cream is awful.
  24. another vote for Forest Hill supermarket - I have been shopping in there for over ten years and the veg is good quality and really reasonable. If you've got a spare pound the ginger thin biscuits are delicious too!
  25. hi - the same thing has been happening to us on Wood vale - Lewisham council though. Our bill is also ?20,000. We had an inspection of the works and the snagging has been done - but the standard is just as bad as it was in the first place. They have painted the stair rails without removing layers of old paint so it is already chipping off - again... I would love to buy the freehold but there are no tenants in my block who are willing to. Three people who have been subjected to this are now moving away through fear of another massive bill. The council had done nothing to our block for over ten years and we are all paying the price. It's very frustrating.
