  1. Well, for one, giving your child a name containing asterisks is bloody pretentious in my opinion.* *Asterix is of course the exception.
  2. Sorry about the too many kids with mostly with stupid pretentious names, D&C. Will try not to run over your foot with my buggy when I pass through The Gardens next. On my way to the park. You know, with the duck pond. And the swings. Oop, cross-posted with ????. Shucks, looks like we may be forced to agree to agree this time.
  3. Went to see Pygmalion at the Old Vic on Friday and really enjoyed it - classic theatre played straight, really well acted. I couldn't remember where I'd seen Michelle Dockerty (Eliza) before, and then tracked her down to the rather bad production of Terry Pratchett's The Hogfather from a few Christmases ago. But she was great in this, as was most of the rest of the cast.
  4. I've never been ID'd in my life. Was very proud of it when I was under 18, but now I'm not so keen... :)

*peers through hole in ceiling* Pause *peers through hole in floor* Pause *scratches head* *considers saying 'Just dropping through, Mike?'* *has a coffee instead*
  6. Especially bad are the ones where you have to yell to make yourself heard, and where you can't sit down. I'm not as young as I was. Am I on the wrong thread? Someone's hidden my teeth.
  7. It was just the one, and quite a small one. So not that exciting.
  8. At least we in Peckham can spell camouflage, BN5.
  9. So much better put than mine, *Bob*.
  10. Maybe the boringness is to do with the baby explosion? I personally am far duller than I used to be.
  11. Hi Jefferykon08, and welcome to the EDF. Hopefully, you'll be continuing to contribute your thoughts and experiences and opinions with us for many months to come. However, be careful - if you are here to promote your website (as your first 2 posts suggest) you may receive a cool response. Subtlety is all.
  12. Yes, but the bastard weather was only bastard good while we were on bastard holiday. Sorry, just getting the swearing out of the way before having to behave myself in front of your lovely children. I reckon we should keep an eye on the skies and shout out for some time in mid September.
  13. dja thnk?
  14. The Italians are all a bit right wing????

Will dex, you sound suspiciously like my husband when on the topic of Cathy Dennis. Are you by any chance Mr. Moos, having sneakily registered when I wasn't looking?
  16. I like the way the article put stress on the fact that houses on the street could go for as much as ?400,000. "I paid as much as ?400,000 for my house, you know. And I don't expect snakes in it! That's for the common houses 2 streets down, where they only pay up to ?300,000."
  17. Sucks that more Forumites didn't manage to make it. If the summer ever turns up, would the Citizens and the Assetites (sounds very Biblical!) be up for a rematch?
  18. The one about the alligators in the sewer systems in New York. I grew up in a house where the most unfeasibly large spiders could squeeze themselves out of a tiny overflow and into one's bath, so was perfectly ready to believe an alligator could follow.

That's the good stuff... wait till you get to the 'Uncool Music I Don't Like To Admit To Owning' section.
  21. Suggest you stash a 'Free Tibet' banner in Mrs' handbag when next she goes out - problem solved.
  22. Are they looking for a flat in this area...?
  23. You nearly called me 'love' again there, didn't you? Grrr...
  24. If you've had a quiet word with them and they're offended by your request that they respect the rules by which you live then they are not friends. You are doing them a favour, not the other way around. And to treat your nanny like a servant is unbelievably rude. Sorry - edited because the above is a bit strong. Hopefully you can talk about a time limit in a non-confrontational way, and also remind them of a few boundaries. Good luck!
