  1. Hi Has anyone got the number/website for the SLTC? Or can recommend anywhere for the Chicken Pox vaccine locally-aware this thread from last summer. Thanks
  2. A scam because on Friday night a guy knocked on at least 2 doors on Chadwick Road (the lower one way bit) saying he'd just moved into the street - with a similar tale about his car and wanting ?10/?20. Fortunately most of us know each other on the street so we usually know if someone has moved away/moved in. Between 11 of us we're letting our whole street know - it works when people are caught off guard and think someone genuinely needs help - there is an old thread on here about this scam and also about break ins linked to it. I would let the police know - the people on our street have.
  3. Hello and welcome to any newcomers - we've met 3 times so far - the next meet is Sunday 6 December, 10am brunch, location TBC. Send a PM so you can be added to the FB group as all the chat is happening on there. J
  4. I gave up on 'kids' water bottles as they always leaked - use these now, never leaked when twisted shut and haven't yet leaked when left open. Plus holds a good amount for long days out. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/camelbak/podium-big-chill-bottle-750ml-ec059702?country=GB&currency=GBP&esvt=1212-GOUKE255478&esvq=&esvadt=999999-0-37932-1&esvcrea=61231496816&esvplace=&esvd=c&esvaid=50080&gclid=CO3IjvWD-cgCFcafGwod7zkJTg
  5. Poxclin was brilliant-got it from Boots-easy to apply and seemed to stop the itching so no scars. Good luck!
  6. Hi-sorry to high jack but would love to know the same as the OP-feel free to pm me also. Thanks.
  7. My Dad was born there in 1939, we're trying to find out the same (as the maternity wards may have moved over the years) if we have any luck I'll let you know.
  8. We're also thinking of contacting them so any reviews appreciated. Thanks
  9. I really feel for you. Sorry if this makes you feel worse but just in case anyone else is thinking of using Casa on Bellenden Road. We had our stove sourced and installed through Casa and I couldn't recommend them more. Matt at Casa was great - we visited him about 3 times for advice and he visited out house (to see size/setup etc) before making a decision. Matt helped find a chimney sweep (family run business - they had records of cleaning our chimneys as far back as the 1940s which for some reason appealed to me). He advised on the stove knowing what we were looking for and our budget. He then manages the team to install it. Steve installed it - spent time showing us how it worked and what to do for the first 'burn', lovely guy - he also removed the old fireplace surround and plastered the wall as part of the job. Sometimes hard to get hold of as often out and about but if you go to the shop you can chat direct to him. I know you're chasing Westcombes to sort a bad job but if you're worried about safety etc contact Matt - he or Steve might be able to help? Hope you get it sorted soon.
  10. This morning was great - FAR more welcoming than the Gardens! I'm keen for the cinema too - see you there! x
  11. I don't have a funny story to cheer you up but yours has made me laugh out loud! thank you! and well done for saying something - you've given me the courage to do the same when I next need to.
  12. Brilliant! Elizabeth, I think this is my favourite SB post yet! Anyone going to the Crooked Well tomorrow? Hope you and babies aren't too hot. Jo x
  13. Does anybody use real nappies? PM me if you do as starting to feel I could now attempt to reduce my 'environmental disaster' (Arthur). If anyone is thinking about it I think the local Nappy Lady expert is giving a talk at the Ivydale Children's Centre that I think I'll go to if you fancy...I do need some convincing that it's manageable!! a friend had a good go this week - she made it look simple! Thanks Jo
  14. I can do either dates. Emma and I were just talking about some drinks one evening - perfect. Big boy Arthur nearly got showed up by Amelie today at swimming...but he managed to man up and hold it together and took two dips under with no tears! (just a bit of a quivering bottom lip).
  15. Crumpets, wine...this is the best group to be a part of. Been on holiday (Wales with NO rain - seriously I kid you not) so have missed meets ups for a few weeks and now have swimming sessions on Tues for 5 weeks - if I'm organised I might get to the Gardens early tomorrow, about 10/10.30...hope to see you (you can see how my weird child is even BIGGER). Jo x
  16. Hello, I can't make it tomorrow, but just got back from the picnic area now-was lovely! Enjoy and see you all soon. Jo
  17. My (welsh) other half won't be impressed but could be fun!? http://www.southwark.gov.uk/events/event/1786/
  18. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/events/event/1786/ It's not the weekend. Sure they'll be other stuff too.
  19. I'm keen!and just think how rewarding the crumpets will be.
