  1. A friend was asked by the new/prospective owner about doing some work on the place and the knock through plans were mentioned.
  2. So the CPT is being turned into an eatery with the two bars knocked through to create one big dinning area, is this true?

Reading the U2 thread reminded me of this little ditty made by Adam Buxton for an award ceremony fake celebrity messages
  4. playground Oi! music sung by the late great Gary 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' Holton - the Ronnie Wood/Jimmy Pursey of 80s TV. Followed the dramas of the Dunmore United junior supporters club "Find another place, 'cos you can't play 'ere/Don't want any lip, so there!/Y'know it's gonna be alright if we stick together/We're gonna have a fine, fine time if we stick together/No more mindless empty days..."
  5. Anywhere on lordship lane is in the SoGo district that's South of Goose Green. Moving onto LA references, I have heard the area between Dawson Heights and the Horniman often refered to as 'The Valley'.
  6. It's quite odd that, when celebs start stalking you, about 5 years back i saw that Jerome Flynn in some establishment on Lordship Lane, not a rare site him being local and all, but a week or so later he walks into the restaurant i'm eating at in New Delhi and sits at the next table, I resisted the urge.
  7. "Import" shurley shome mishtake (RIP Bill), the hoodie is an American export, ain't it
  8. That teenager again feeling continues, I can almost taste the bong water. Spacemen 3 - Hypnotized
  9. Good call on the Kenny Rogers david_carnell, right back to their first gigs Supergrass have done a fantastic version of Just Dropped In, anyway found this from TFI Fridays.
  10. On Jah Lush and Muttley's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End theme, Vivian Stanshall used to have the following instruction recorded on his answer phone "If you're going to say anything filthy, please speak clearly." He also used to live on Rosendale Road along with the other Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band members.
  11. I always knew them as 'Bodgit & Scarper' and ChavWivaLawDegree you must have come across the infamous law firm 'Sue, Grabbit & Run'
  12. Raymond Chandler was educated at Dulwich College and his Philip Marlowe character was named after Marlowe house at the school.
  13. Candy & Candy bidding for Dawson Heights, now that has to be a wind up, I can see their portfolio strap line now, 'Mayfair, Chelsea, Monaco, Dulwich'. The Candy brothers are responsible for the super luxury development of Richard Rogers One Hyde Park on the old site of Bowater House (IMHO a far nicer building). If you believe the hype, once it's built the flats will cost between ?4m and ?80m EACH, next doors Mandarin Oriental Hotel will provide a concierge service. The brothers are also doing the same at the old Chelsea Barracks, which they paid ?900m for, oh and they already hold the ?27m record for selling a single London flat. Now I now prices are getting steep round these parts, but really.
  14. The filming was for EDF (the french energy company) idents for the their sponsorship of ITV's Rugby world cup coverage, EDF did the same with last year's football world cup "where do they get the energy from?" . Think the CPT was most likely chosen because of the two bars (2 locations for the price of 1), plenty of natural light being on a corner and all, plenty of parking, easy access and it's proximity to the other locations they used on underhill road. Plus it's unrivalled charm.

How do you circumcise a Hillbilly? Kick his sister in the jaw.
  16. Or peanut butter on toast with sliced banana and lashings of thai sweet chilli sauce
  17. On toast with peanut butter.
  18. This reminds me of dancing in fields in the home counties in the early 90s. Robyn - With Every Heartbeat Robyn has teamed up with the guy behind fellow Stockholmers Teddybears. The video is also made by Swedish directors Stylewar.
  19. So it appears white stuff has been trading on Lordship Lane for years.
  20. Asset, oh and on the way home on your route you can stop for proper tea and cake in Westerham on the village green, mmmmmmmmmmm.
  21. Tom, on a good day that route works, bad one and it's hell Ful Pal Rd end. Otherwise it's to Vauxhall Bridge the back route via Loughborough Junction then front it out thru Marble Arch & Gloucester Terrace to the A40, he/she who dares ...
