  1. We said the same thing last night, and when, 25 minutes in we got to eddie wossisname's abuse we just muted it until the weather. In fairness, like Ant I find myself using other sources to pursue the sort of news Saffron is talking about, and I have plenty of analysis type sites for the important global stuff. Murders, kidnappings and rapes are news for sure, but I don't like to dwell on it like an open sore, the main reason why I'd not touch a tabloid or 'human interest' paper like the mail or express.
  2. the-e-dealer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Because we watch films and television on them how > about Telephone? Err, wouldn't Television work better there? HB, I thought that was a dutchie?
  3. yeah, we've gone past it about 50 times, always saying how we must check it out, in a tone one might use when saying how nice it would be to pay the Radleys a visit.
  4. Aah, it's all academic. Gastro pubs, kids in pubs, all will be a pipe dream soon enough, here's my future local http://www.ratemypub.ie/pub.php?county=Wexford&pub=The-Parish-Pump
  5. The GE made us feel pretty unwelcome as regards kids (and ours are pretty well behaved) and haven't been back since. I'm not a fan of the Herne, I can see it serves a need, though in my experience it just meant I had to stand by the play area, as demanded by piblet, the entire time, which isn't fun. I'd rather kick a football down the park and then go to a normal foodie pub afterwards where tired piblet will just want to tuck in to some nosh.
  6. gold pills then.
  7. "Homeopathy is a recognised placebo" As are sugar pills, but they cost a lot less.
  8. penny not dropped then nette. Lovely to see you back HB, even if only a brief hiatus from your, well, hiatus. By the by, I did a ghost pooh the other day, nary a trace on paper nor bowl. What could have accompanied such a portentious event?
  9. Just stumbled upon Modern Family. I feel like I've missed out, brilliant. It's a little bit Arrested Development with a dose of Malcolm in the Middle, but none the worse for that.
  10. Immigration is of course just an easy scapegoat for globalisation, with a dodgy accent, with added bile. Ultimately it may be PC to decry the complaints, but the complaints are simply pissing in the wind. You might as well complain about the death of the coal industry or the fact that you lost the Spanish civil war...oh yeah, you know....
  11. That's unfair, he was talking about the reaction, which could just as easily be a liberati overreaction to events. Of course the phone ins and message boards are always awash with deranged sociopaths [in joke]irregardless[/in joke] of the news story.
  12. I'm going by your description. There are no saves in the game, it's hard and frustrating necessitating go after go and refine, ent of strategy. I do have it on my amazon wish list though. ...and you know, someone may be turning forty soon ;)
  13. The Binding of Isaac basically a cutesy quick fix Dark Souls packed with style and humour http://www.gamecritics.com/brandon-bales/the-binding-of-isaac-review
  14. I seem to recall the BNP had a good day once, and I think most of their councillors have gone, not in the least because most of them were abolutely clueless, making for some amusing anecdotes in Private Eye. I'm going with storm in a mid term teacup. Theyre simply not viable. I read somewhere that in a brief bit on foreign policy in their manifesto they talk about supporting independence for Tibet and Taiwan (something even Taiwan aren't pushing for). So that's the world's soon to be most important country utterly alienated then, well done chaps.
  15. wrong thread really. ooh, I've done a brendan again
  16. spine mockery or more apropriately spik ceremony
  17. Bile EP limited edition green vinyl!!
  18. Is that a portrait of John Wayne Gacy? God it's chilling.
  19. And another one gone :( You'll come and visit us here though won't you, I was telling otta yesterday that weirdly the forum might help me keep my sanity when I move to craggy island.
  20. Oh PGC, where's the like button
  21. Vaguely seriously, Cromwell underwent revisionism over a period of time from autocratic misery guts with a penchant for brutal slaughter, to champion of the people and all round good (round) egg. I finally got round to reading up the civil war (war of the three kingdoms) myself and having been brought up in school on a diet of roundheads good, cavaliers snarling villains *boooo* I was pretty shocked to discover that I'm pretty sure I'd have fought on the royalist side, even if he was a twat.
  22. Have you thought about medititaion perhaps? Oh ok. Uncle Joe was a kindly soul, plus he knew a thing or two about how to get them queuing properly; you wouldn't have people wearing their belts around their knees if he was in charge today!!
  23. It had already become a bit meh though. Character was only bestowed on it through the sheer diligence at effected insouciance of the identikit-hipster sixth form staff. Their training must be awesome as in all my years I never found one who let on they were, in reality, capable of spotting customers, knowing what drink was where, or doing any sort of mental arithmetic.
