  1. She's oinly successfully given up twice, one per child, but ultimately went back on to them a year or so later. Willpower is a non starter with her, patches and gum also failed. Of course I'm not really thinking about taking it up I was just after the negatives of this approach as I bought her the e-cigs. I'd be very interested as to why GP friend thinks they're carcinogenic as as far as im aware nicotine isn't and nor are theatrical smoke machines, but if it's the case then it seems to go against the whole reason for giving up. Perosnally I find them innoffensive the vape smell doesn't linger, I think they're being banned necause people react emotionally to seeing it nowadays and they're avoiding rows. I did try it though just to see, it tasted pretty grotty and I actually fouind the nicotene rush really unpleasant, it had been a a while after all!!

    Football Focus

Great 70s style muddy footie at the temple of evil that is Kenilworth Road on BT.
  3. I gave up smoking over 20 years ago. It seems to me that if someone can't give up cigarettes then not giving up but changing the deliver mechanism from cancerous tar laden smoke to water vapour seems like a win win. I was just pondering on taking up the habit.
  4. It was pleurisy.so Victorian!!

    Leaving do

May be a scary thing to do, but lounge should be safe. Leaving do, 8th February at the EDT. Should anyone feel the urge. Would love to meet some of the EDF crowd before I go......Louisa.........
  6. I've coming across as a bit bah humbug I reckon. Big love to all btw. Best of luck in 2014, my New Years resolution is apparently to emigrate, eeeeeeeeeek. Bye bye gorgeous folk, even the northern cockney reds RD........
  7. Love actually sets me off too. Paroxysms of loathing and swearing generally...but....
  8. The best people in the world (in some given field/world crisis) are rarely measured people with perspective and self reflection. The things that made Keane wonderfully dogged are the same things that would make you uncomfortable about him marrying your daughter.
  9. This ain't the last Hogmanay where we're forced to care is it? I genuinely hope not.
  10. Got them to help la piba give up, but genuinely considering taking up vaping for a habit. Are there any downsides to this marvel of nature?
  11. Cor, two missed weeks and still joint third. Why was I so bad at this last year?
  12. Darren gray = thankulotto Shall we discuss the cardinal sins next?
  13. Happy Christmas painters and lurkers of east Dulwich (and further afield). Err, I don't suppose anyone knows of a shop that might still be open. That silly old Santa got the wrong batteries for one of Los Pibi?os' toys.
  14. Exactly, taken at face value it basically says that black Africans are destined for it (rather than it being a product of poverty, ignorance and evil propaganda), and that white people are immune. In fact, all it really does is expose her ignorance and stupidity so bravo.
  15. In essence identical. uncleglen seems to think it was an an intelligent assessment of Africa. I was trying to rephrase it in a way he might see why it's offensive. So no doubt he'll quote the prevalence of HIV among Scottish drug users due to unsafe practices.
  16. he's in 4 too apparently. I can only imagine that Carrie's main adversary will be the new director, maybe saul will help bring him down. I wonder who the mani terrorist will be since Saul's plan actually came to fruition in reality. I reckon the English!
  17. Off to scotland, hope I don't get AIDS, don't worry I'm English.
  18. We wondered the same thing, but apart from making no sense in terms of the plot (his death served everyone, alive he's an threat to jevadi and the CIA). But apparently he's not been cast in series 4, so I think that really is it. Is he the most popular character? I found him generally a bit annoying. Saul has to be the beating heart of the programme, though favourite character of series 3 was without a doubt Peter Quinn, the disillusioned assassin.
  19. Facebook has its uses. I think this sort of thing trends to happen less often because, perversely, broadcasting to the world involves less forethought than knowing your mum/son/girl at the office you fancy, is going to read it. Plus I quite like the weird, slightly voyeuristic intimacy of all these kids with food on their faces, it gives you the illusion of being in touch with people you genuinely miss. Obviously I'd rather see them for real, but it rarely works out that way. Plus the annoying ones you block.

    Bitcoin

"the Satoshi is just a reflection of the limitation in the datatype of current implementations" which I think was my original point. Anyway, I've learnt a lot more about this bitcoin malarky thanks to this, so for that at least, cheers.

    Bitcoin

I just got a server error. I can't for a second believe the EDF slashdot effect brought it down!! Though I see that the reason for the Satoshi's current divisibility seems to be because of processor architecture (or more likely os) limitations https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Divisibility_extension
  23. Plus, you know, what bob said
  24. I saw an interview with the girl, now in her 50s, who basically said she was very precocious, going to festivals and gigs, she adored JP and completely seduced him and he had absolutely no idea about her age. She herself said there should be no witch hunt on her account.
  25. probably 1%, most of them are merely common-or-garden dysfunctional human beings!
