  1. As far as I can remember it was the coming of Sainsburys to DKH that saw the demise of many of the shops, Smiths the Greengrocers Heads the butchers and many others. The Chinese that is now the Tulip Cafe only closed in about 1992, gosh thats 16 years ago time does fly. There was Gents mens shop where the Sea Cow is now that sold some great mens clothes better than White Stuff and run by John Fisher RIP who was raised in the flat above. The Foresters was one of my favourite pubs in the early nintiesit was very well ran by a guy called George. And upstairs at the EDT for comedy and celebrity ub quizz were fab. ED in my 17 years here has never been rough.
  2. There is no reason why someone with mental health problems who has commited a crime cannot be prosecuted and charged. The difference in senteance would be if the crime is driven by mental illness. Violence is not a sign or symptom of mental illness. Crimes are much more likely to be committed by people who have taken drugs or alcohol, but lets not get into the debate as to whether this is an illness or lifestyle choice
  3. Q. Who does the Maudsley cater for A. The local community so that could be anyone of us. pk what do you suggest a fair share of mad people is. Maybe the Maudsley and it's famous history have attracted many of the more recent housebuyers to the area as it is only since the early ninties that you had to be from the actual area to receive treatment there prior to that it treated London wide.
  4. Shoot who invented double decker pram
  5. Have used a couple of types of freeview boxes with only indoor ariel no probs in fact much better reception through freeview.
  6. Kellyscartoons may mental illness never visit you or yours or maybe it should in order to do a little something for your terrible snobbish attitude. Yes East Dulwich is awash with council tennants albeit in many of those nice Victorian conversions and there is every chance that you are no further than a door away from one of these so called nutters but haven't noticed as they appear quiet normal so be scared very scared.
  7. Many years ago before the influx of the more affluent media types arrived in ED there was a great cafe/eatery called free range it was great for Sunday brunch alas it has been shut for many years, I think it's the noodle house that's in it's place, if it were still there today I bet it would do a stortming business. A query I have is all William Rose meat organic and free range? as they advertise that they sell organic and free range but this is quite different to stating all meat is organic/free range can anyone enlighten me?
