  1. We witnessed cars receiving parking tickets on Matham Grove this morning. Reading a couple of posts re the CPZ, it seems to me the residents who wanted the CPZ, are still under the illusion they will get to park their cars outside their house. This will mot be the case, and when they are tired of having to pay the parking fees for friends and family, when they visit, and still cannot park your car outside your home, then you will be asking to remove the CPZ. To the selfish few who just had to ruin East Dulwich and insist on CPZ, I hope you are proud of yourselves.
  2. It was lovely to see Apprentice winner Carina Leppo open another Branch of the Artisan Bakery Dough, In Beckenham. There were rumours Carina was interested in Dulwich, however they were squashed. Its a lovely shop with big open windows and lots of treats. Hopefully they will discover the delights of our lovely community, and decide to open another dough in Dulwich.
  3. Check out Margate/Cliftonville/Broadstairs, lovely area. A friend moved from ED to Margate, she is renting a whole property for a third of the rent she was paying in ED.
  4. Iv had a BTL for about 10 years now. My initial marital home which is in the Croydon area, is now a rental. Iv been lucky in the sense that I bought when the prices were low, back in 2002. I had a BTL in Dulwich, again initially started as my home, which helps with capital gains if we were to sell it anytime in the future. I would do some more research and talk to different brokers. At the moment the market is very advantageous for the landlord, due to everything we have gone through in lockdown. My current tenants have had to move out of London due to work, when i advertised my rental, I had over 60 applicants interested and various councils approaching me, re letting to them on a long term lease. There are competitive BTL deals. Check out Metro Bank. Good luck
  5. Hi I can recommend Derek Shankar who designed and hosts my website. Derek 07956422005
  6. Hi dontbesilly i have just reported you. You seem hellbent on winding everyone up on here. Do not get personal about shops and business on here. I look forward to admin banning you. You are a parasite. dontbesilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > monica Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > As Nature Intended will be closing on Tuesday > 11th > > August, confirmed by them today. 7. Apologies to all the hillbillies. it rhymed with dontbesilly. :)
  8. Dontbesilly, The CCTV you refer to is the TFL camera not CCTV. I was chatting to some other forumites on the lane today, whilst drinking my oat cappuccino and flashing my black amex around. The other forumites think you are a hoot, absolutely hilarious, sad pathetic and hilarious. How silly of you to mistake a TFL camera for CCTV. You really are silly billy, or maybe you are a hillbilly. Now jog on back to the borders where you belong, don't forget the binocluars, so you can stare at ED lovingly, wantingly and lustfully. This is fun, sporting with the peasants dontbesilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > monica Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Than I suggest you do your best to help those > in > > need and stop posting stupid comments. 9. Pearspring has closed down sadly. The owner wasn't well for a while, this happened just before lockdown. Its sad.
  10. I had excruciating back pain, thought it was sciatica, it was not. I had acupuncture and the back pain has disappeared. I have acupuncture on a regular basis and I knew it would help.
  11. As Nature Intended will be closing on Tuesday 11th August, confirmed by them today. As Nature intended have gone into CVA, company voluntary arrangement with their creditors. Planet Organic wouldn't survive in ED, unless you want to pay premium prices, to cover their premium rents. Foxtons own the building and the only available building on lordship lane only has A1 license and has so many restrictions on the planning, due to the residents who live above the property. Shop local and independent. Many locals are now shopping local and independent due to the reliability and good stock levels in the independent stores. Many of the independent stores delivered to their customers during lockdown and they still do, and they stayed open throughout lockdown.
  12. Than I suggest you do your best to help those in need and stop posting stupid comments. No one cares about your opinion. If you want a sob story, try watching your loved one dying in front of you and there is nothing you can do about it. I doubt very much you live locally, and I suggest the next time you travel to the East Dulwich borders, bring your passport, and we will see you if you are worthy of being in the greatness that is East Dulwich. Close the door on the way out of ED dontbesilly, or the more apt name would be, Iamsilly dontbesilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > monica Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > We are in talks with the local police and the > > council to get CCTV installed, due to no CCTV > on > > Lordship Lane. 13. We are in talks with the local police and the council to get CCTV installed, due to no CCTV on Lordship Lane. Dontbesilly, I suggest you do your research before you start spouting nonsense. The irony is literally in the name. i am not sure what your agenda is dontbesilly, however clearly you couldn't care less about the ED community. dontbesilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > monica Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Dontbesilly are you ok??? > > > Are you ok? 14. Shoplifting like every crime has victims, irrespective of the shoplifting taking place in a supermarket or a small shop. As a Retailer I have experienced shoplifting, where I have had to escort the shoplifters off the premises. We have received forged bank notes, where I have had to explain to the person acting all innocent when they are trying to give us a fake 50, that I can tear the note up or call the police. Our local neighbourhood police have been amazing, they have been at the coop waiting on the security guard to arrive for their shift, keeping an eye on the store. Lordship Lane and Northcross Rd need CCTV, we have been here on the lane for 20 years. Over the years we have seen ED evolve and become a destination area, however with that we have also seen crime increase. A lady who's bike was stolen the other day, was in hysterics, the bike was her lifeline.
  15. Hi James I have emailed both Charlie and Victoria regarding CCTV for the lordship lane and East Dulwich area. We the community need CCTV due to the increased thefts in the area Can you help please?
  16. I don't think the COOP have CCTV, we need it for Lordship Lane and Northcross rd anywa.
  17. Update We the retailers have now asked southwark council to help with CCTV installation. Yesterday we witnessed a guy walking out of COOP supermarket with 3 bottles of unpaid whiskey. Subsequently he was confronted by the staff at the coop, which resulted in the bottles smashing on the floor. Police were called, however with CCTV, that guy would off been caught. We have had a number of bike thefts, including a lady today, who's bike was stolen.
  18. Chains do this all the time, in order to complete the deal with planet organic, they opened a seventh store, ED. However due to the location and size of the store, the costs of running the store, planet organic have closed it down. The owner wants ?70,0000 per annum.
  19. Hi Ianr, they are closing down. The disparity comes from ANI, directly. Initially it was thought Planet Organic were going to keep the the ED store open, however its now confirmed they are closing the store.
  20. The ED branch of ANI are closing down in September, due to planet Organic taking over the ANI franchise. the staff were telling customers today. The staff were told the ED branch may close down, its to small for a Planet organic store. ANI were in a lot of debt when they opened up in ED. ANI were owned by Icelands foods.
  21. Iv donated. I shared the story to my Facebook page. Bless all of you.
  22. Hayfever remedies are now in stock.
