  1. Ooh I just got back from Sicily yesterday. A four day eating and drinking marathon and i was lucky enough to be with an Itailian who has lots of friends in Palermo. Didn't do much in the way of public transport, but I would definitely not want to drive there - it is totally mental in Palermo. You also have to validate your tickets on the buses. Cefalu is an hour by train from Palermo, and well worth a visit. Must try food pane e panelli - street food, deepfried pieces of chickpea batter, fried in olive oil and served in a fresh roll with a squeeze of lemon juice - AMAZING! Caponata - I was never a fan of the aubergine but they do magical things with it Aubergine rolls - the stuffing is incredible Stuffed calamari - ditto. Arancini - rice balls the size of a tennis ball Sword fish - a speciality Canolli - crisp rolled biscuit filled with sweetened ricotta. must be done daily if possible, they are incredible Cassatella - look like green boobies with a glace cherry as the nipple - yummy How this island is not full of clinically obsese peole I will never know Enjoy!
  2. Forum off line tonight jctg - I am betting you will succumb to the lure of Mail On-Line. The risk wil increase with the length of time the forum is down. Todays headline to tempt you - "Skinny Una complains she is squidgy"
  3. NOT hacking, suprise suprise
  4. I am not alone then. I spend a good chunk of my lunch hour tabbing between Mail on-line and the Guardian - my attempted antidote. I was first introduced to the site through work. I had to scan it daily for health stories, and one thing led to another and now I just can't stop. Even worse - I don't want to stop, it is my guilty pleasure and unless I suddenly find myself voting Tory it is doing no-one any harm. (except the immigrants and they don't count because they bring the price of my house down and give you cancer)

    Large Waste

Perhaps someone on the forum has a van they could help you with? Don't think my bicycle would be much use. PS If this thread had "Of Space" on the end I would have taken bets it was about razors.

  7. What, no takers of the piss tour? I can't believe it.
  8. I am thinking of starting a new business, akin to the grafitti tours of east london, this would be the piss tour of east dulwich. Any takers?
  9. I am a middle class offender approaching middle age and I am disgusted by the lack of facilities catering to my demographic. This is east dulwich afterall.
  10. Is it just me or does this thread sound rude?
  11. Shared this in work - it rippled through the open plan office with guffaws coming from every quarter. Was also put onto these sites http://www.uhpinions.com/ and http://www.regretsy.com/ I DO NOT vouch for their character. Twelve o clock for the squirrels?
  12. Still free in hackney but should probably move fast! My flat is a bit unsual, I had an architect draw up some plans, and even though he was local, he was not sure what would be approved given the particulars of my gaff. I am thinking free advice not to be sniffed at, and will give me confidence in the refinancing. Lovin the forum
  13. Much obliged red devil. Have most of that, will make the most of it
  14. Hello, I am not from round these parts, but I am hoping that some of the good citzens of the forum might be able to help. I am hoping to build a roof extension on my flat in Hackney and have been advised to put in an applicaiton for pre-planning advice, but no advice on what to include in the application has been forth coming from the plannning department. Has anyone out there done this, and do you have any tips on what should be included to get some decent advice back. Many thanks
  15. I am in at last! Let the fun commence. Only joking admin, I promise to be a good forumite
