  1. Packing bags for inside your rucksacks are an absolute must! They make everything really compact and save you having to empty everything to get a pair of socks.
  2. We've just had some beautiful wardrobes built by Lorencini Bespoke, who worked their magic in some mismatched alcoves. Flavio and his team worked hard to build and paint our lovely new wardrobe and I would highly recommend them for any bespoke cabinets. Will be getting them back to do the siting room asap! Really friendly, talented chaps. http://www.lorenjoiner.co.uk/
  3. We've bought and sold with KFH and I've always found them to be great.
  4. Hi Lucy. I'm due at the end of May - have PMd you and would be up for meeting up over the coming weeks.
  5. Oh dear. That's dreadful. Have you contacted James Barber?
  6. I have no idea? One wall to be stripped of wallpaper and all four walls, ceiling and windows to be painted. Walls all in good condition. What's the going rate for this?
  7. We love Brick Brewery! Keep doing what you're doing folks, we love it.
  8. We've got a fab WI in Nunhead! We meet on the third Monday of each month, and our next meeting is on the 18th September. We meet upstairs at the Old Nun's Head pub (8-10pm), so you can grab a burger / wine before coming up to join us. I've been a member for almost 2 years and I really enjoy it. The women are fab and the meetings are always good fun. We've done cheese workshops, crafting, burlesque, comedy - all sorts! You can email the committee on [email protected] or pop along to our next meeting to join up. https://nunheadwi.wordpress.com/about/
  9. Agreed. We're mid way through but every single workman has been a joy thus far, and they really haven't stopped. Very impressed with their ethic and attitude. Fingers crossed it looks nice!
  10. May I suggest you contact the ASA to complain? They deal with claims on envelopes as well as other ads.
  11. If it's untaxed call the parking violations team. We've had a dumped car outside our house for 8 weeks. I called them and they removed it within 48 hours. Pretty impressive from the council!
  12. They're fiendishly expensive. We're looking at the same size in patio and have been quoted ?7.5-?8k from 3 different people. Not likely. Good luck in your search.
  13. Can anyone recommend a seamstress / tailor locally? I need a dress altering for a wedding in 2 weeks... Thanks
  14. We've used an agency for years and had a fab woman clean our place who we were very fond of. Since she left, they've passed us around and we're generally unhappy with the standard. Anyone got a wonderful cleaner they'd recommend? Someone trustworthy with a bit of staying power?!
  15. He did loads of work in our place. He's fab!
  16. Beauty Plus on Forest Hill Road. Always a good service.
  17. We're doing ours with them at the moment and they've been fairly decent when responding to emails etc. Not always in the same day (which can be annoying), but not long after. I know they're busy at the moment (our start date got pushed back), but I'm sure they'll be in touch soon. JSD - looks awesome.
  18. Dulwich and Sydenham is lovely. Amazing views, nice course.
  19. Hi all. Any recommendations for a builder to dig out and lay and large patio, and install a new fence? Recommendations gratefully received.
  20. Agree - this is becoming quite urgent. I also reported vie the website but haven't had so much as an acknowledgement.
  21. I'm after a decorative metal screen for the garden. Does anyone know who makes the lovely gates that are around? The one at the Palmerston pub is lovely, and there's another on North Cross Road. Also the lovely gates at the allotment on Underhill Road. Thanks!
  22. James, could you also look into what's happening outside the new shop next door to the Co-op on FHR? Looks like they needed access to pipes, but the builders have dug up half the street and just left it. No work has been carried out for weeks, and now people are throwing rubbish (inc shoes?), into the ditch.
  23. We're having a new roof put on, so considering solar panels as part of the work. Anyone had them installed? I'd be keen to hear your experiences / how much you save / reputable companies, etc
  24. I'm looking for a local piano teacher who teaches adults. Any recommendations welcome. For fun, not grades.
