  1. Would like to leave a recommendation for Juliana at Balayage - I had my hair coloured over the weekend and she did such a fantastic job. I think it?s the only time I?ve ever left a hairdressers and not gone home to change it in some way! Big thank you to Juliana - I?ll definitely be returning.
  2. Hi, Please could you DM me your price list? Many thanks!
  3. Hello, URGENT: Handyman or carpenter needed to come and plane a door to size tomorrow (Sunday) Have not had a bedroom door for a week and was let down by the carpet fitters who were supposed to cut it to size before they left. Please get in touch if you can help or can reccomend someone who can. Hannah 07557143613
  4. They did a good job on my tyres. However I took my old car in last year to check if it needed a new battery. Kwik fit told me it did need a new battery and replaced it.. turned out I didn't need a battery at all and I actually had an electrical problem. They had a 'vauxhall specialist' in that day who "had a look" and made the problem a million times worse - my car started stalling when in traffic. Kwik-fit denied responsibility. Took it to Vauxhall and turned out they missed that my clutch had slipped and had rewired the car incorrectly! So I paid for a battery I didn't need. They kindly didn't charge me for the bodged rewiring. So to sum up - tyres, yes. Anything else, no.
  5. I smell a troll under the bridge
  6. They need to fix the air con in there. At ?48 per month from their many customers, you would think they could afford to sort out the temperature?! The staff on the desk have always been very polite to me, it's a shame other people are having bad experiences.
  7. Morning, I've got a dodgey indicator on my car - the right hand side is blinking double time, but all of my lights are working fine and nothing has blown. I'm driving to Glasgow on Friday so ideally need it sorted today or tomorrow. I'm guessing this is probably a really small/simple thing to fix. I've booked it into peacocks on Chadwick Road - has anyone taken their car in here? Are they any good? Or if anyone thinks they can offer some help or advice, it would be greatly appreciated!!
  8. I have the same thoughts driving down there every day to work Blacklashez. No idea if those cameras are working or not! I've been going through them at 20 with people getting right up my bum for me to speed up, but obviously I don't want to risk a ticket. Would be great to get some clarity on whether they've been set to 20 or 30mph.. Or of anyone has received a ticket for going through at 30 yet? Seems to me that the new 20 zones are causing confusion and are actually quite dangerous as people are undecided as to whether they're going to stick to it or not! I've had people tailgating me all the way to Honor Oak at 25mph since the change. What do people think?
  9. http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/dear-parents-you-are-being-lied Yes! Have a look at the link.
  10. NothernTrix, there's a great little cobblers inside the agora on rye lane, next to the pet shop. The man is lovely, prices are really reasonable and all my shoes he's fixed have lasted really well!
  11. I've heard nice things about the surgery in The Gardens from my old housemates. I am at DMC Crystal Palace Road... steer clear.
  12. My parking permit arrived at the start of the week. I spoke to a man on the phone who said the lady I spoke to before must have forgotten to process my application, as it hadn't even been looked at yet. He was very helpful but they clearly don't have a great system going on. Thanks for the offer James. I have a list as long as my arm of things Southwark council are slacking on at the moment! Problems amending my council tax... We need a replacement bin after the bin men broke ours... Still waiting to hear back from a contested parking ticket we received while waiting for the permit. All these things have taken nearly a month, and no reply to any - not good!
  13. Very true Jeremy. Only problem is that round the corner is permit only! I would have to park quote far away. Will definitely be escalating this today. Thanks James.
  14. I think I'll have to ask a warden tomorrow if Southwark council aren't much help again... Fingers crossed it actually is in the post and not in a giant pile of paperwork somewhere! Thanks for advice everyone
  15. Thanks Mustard. I thought this as well, but was worried to risk it. The lady on the phone wasn't much help to be honest... but I've definitely paid etc so hopefully you're right. Will ring Southwark again tomorrow. Thanks!
  16. It's not "Introduction Song" is it? Try googling that.

  19. Hi all, I'm waiting on my parking permit. It was meant to arrive within two working days and it's knocking on 10 now. I have chased Southwark council with no avail, just assurances that it is "in the post". I noticed another neighbour of mine had left a piece of paper with the application number on and "Permit in the post" written on it in their window. Has anyone else done this and got away with it? I am currently using visitors permits until my proper one arrives, but the book of visitors permits is running out quickly! Really reluctant to park my car on a different street and also do not want any tickets... Does anyone have any experience with this, or have any ideas?! Thanks!
  20. Hi everyone, About 9.30pm, I was just walking home from Goose Green towards Peckham, and saw a man on Adys Road in someone's front garden. He was peering into the front window when I was close enough to see. He must have been in the person's front garden for a while because I did not see him walking in front of me at all. When he saw me, he went to the front door and knocked the letter box. He was slim, white, wearing a dark coloured tracksuit and a padded jacket with his hood up. 30s/40s? Sorry to sound paranoid, hopefully it was just someone locked out or looking for a friend! But it felt a bit odd so I reported it just in case. Just a heads up!!
  21. This is golden! I think Max may be pulling the paranoid ED forum leg!
  22. That's awful SebsC! It really is unacceptable, especially when little ones are involved. I have had similar experiences. On more than one occasion I have held for 30 - 40 minutes to speak to someone, only to be cut off!! So frustrating. And it's all well and good telling us to queue up at 7am for an appointment, but people who aren't feeling very well aren't usually up for standing in the cold for an hour in the morning! I am moving doctors ASAP.
