  1. FFS, she was told she can just put the road she lives/works from. We understand she doesn't want to put her exact address hence we would have been happy if she said "I work/live in East Dulwich on Lordship Lane", we told her that, we've exchanged emails behind the scenes so you've only seen a bit of it. The whole point of it is so that we can easily delete blow in adverts and not have to check each and every person's address. The business rules say: "please don't complain when you break the rules and I enforce them" "I see a company has broken the rule more than 3 times then KAPOW!" "we do not have time to check to find out where companies are based" How could it be any clearer? And stop being sexist and jumping to conclusions that we don't understand women's safety. She must have been told unpteen times, she broke the rules umpteen times, then umpteen times again. There's only so much we can do with the time we have. Spray tans are so Essex anyway, in EDF Towers we prefer the pale, celtic look.

Peckham is not a banned word on his forum! Nothing was blocked by the Admin team.
  3. Hi There are 4 threads about CPZ and after a while they cross boundaries, the same people saying the same thing. I'll amend the title of the unlocked one.

  5. Hi The CDN certificate is in place but some elements of the forum misbehave when it's turned on proper. I'll try and have a look over the Christmas break.
  6. Please report them at the time so we can deal with them promptly.
  7. Look at this one in November in the For Sale section (one rule broken), following your other adverts (two rules broken) and without an address (three rules broken):
  8. "When we delete your posts that break the rules the system may delete some of your legitimate posts including recommendations. Sorry but we will not reinstate them." http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,642847 Sorry
  9. Sorry if you think I have a bad attitude but the amount of grief we get from "businesses" who pay nothing to the forum (which is a free resource) and they get lots of paying business from it and then complain when they don't get what they want is flabbergasting. On the business section the very first line of the rules says: "I'm pretty strict when it comes to this section of the forum so please don't complain when you break the rules and I enforce them. - Admin " I really do not know how to say it any clearer. The rules are simple and clear. We do not make it difficult for many people, only those who do not follow the simple rules. You've told us it is unsafe for you to post your address and so we have said do not post.
  10. We agree it's a serious point and therefore please do not post your business on the forum.
  11. Apart from in your post(s), where else could you put your address?
  12. Lounged Title reverted to original and now we've actually read the original message in full (and been told) it is a generic thread about Thames Water and so shouldn't have been in the ED Issues/Gossip section.
  13. Just to answer those quickly, Not done it any more frequently recently, if anything less You thought a heading in the for sale section was edited by us (but it wasn't) so yes, it would seem random The editing titles bit in the terms of use has been there for 12 years
  14. The original post has not been edited by Admin, only the title. If the message had been edited there would be a note to say so. We copied and pasted "you that you have 4 flats tyres" instead of "You have 4 flats tyres" from the message. Edited to add: we like to keep text from the original message if we're expanding the title to be more explanatory, even if they have grammatical errors.
  15. "Where will this end?!" That's a bit dramatic isn't it? It's a change from: "Thames Water" to "Thames Water (digging up Ulverscroft Road)" We've done it for years, heck we even say in the terms " We also reserve the right to edit ... postings ... usually the title to make it more relevant". Sorry if you don't like it and less people look at your post but it does help other forum users, and that is what is important to the moderators.
  16. intexasatthe moment Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder if Admin can sense that not all posters > share the dislike of a thread title that doesn't > include enough detail for users to decide whether > to open or not ? It's not about dislike, it's about usability. If the average person / majority of people looked at the thread title will they know what the message is about? If not then edit the title to be more user friendly. The forum's not on the best software nor mobile friendly so it's a pain to some to have to do a few extra clicks to find out. We're aware some of you don't like it and therefore think it's ok pop up on threads about vans to get your message across but please remember it's a forum for lots of people. Most like to know what the message is about before they click the link in the "main" section, we know that from user research. Back on topic please...

Back on topic...
  19. Yes, we do have an operating Admin. Back in August you broke the rules (http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,642847) so we had emails between us saying you must follow the rules otherwise your messages will be deleted again. Again you didn't follow the rules so I'm going to highlight some relevant parts of the rules here: --- "I'm pretty strict when it comes to this section of the forum so please don't complain when you break the rules and I enforce them. - Admin ... Businesses must be based in East Dulwich and they must state their (trading) address. Failure to do this results in a deleted post. ... When we delete your posts that break the rules the system may delete some of your legitimate posts including recommendations. Sorry but we will not reinstate them." --- I really do not know how to make you understand the above so that when you post multiple times without an address and then I delete them, you do not raise it as an issue.
  20. Ah sorry, I read it as you lived in ED a long time ago. All the better then!
  21. And have been removed whilst being reviewed.
  22. Hi It's only Friday so maybe give the seller a couple of days but yes it is extreme to call 101 for a faulty item purchase. As IlonaM says CAB's helpline is most useful.
  23. Hi, yes as long as you follow the rules.
  24. Hi, thanks for asking. It should really be an East Dulwich company but as you used to live here please do place an ad once, but mention you used to live here and that I've given you permission. Good luck.
  25. Those ones you have mentioned got through the system but have now been removed. I'm afraid you are a business, same as the individual builders, roofers, plumbers etc who are in the for ED Business section.
