  1. There's some nasty things being said about recognisable individuals. Please remove them immediately or I will and then the thread will probably be nonsensical. Or I'll delete the whole thing, either way please don't use the forum for this sort of thing. Ta
  2. Your account has been deactivated hcollin I'm afriad you're wrong jerkontherye, it is moderated but not excessively. The FaceBook page has nothing whatsoever to do with the forum, it's just been set up by some cleaners who are using it to advertise and get work.

  5. Hi tamsie&greg Could you point out the post this is happening on so we can investigate? Thank you
  6. Thank you evilmaniac, Tech Admin is on holiday at the moment and will make the changes next week.
  7. They are correct, no animal sales.
  8. Ah, fixed it. I had turned on "Rocket Loader?", I've turned that off and it's back to normal. If anyone has any problems on the site please let me know, I've made some changes and probably won't know unless you tell me.
  9. Hi japseylarue Selling animals is not allowed, rehousing is as long as it's a legit reason which is beneficial to the animal. evilmanic, you're a genius. I didn't think of that as an option. I've turned it on and it seems to work however the "Attach a file or photo" section appears by default now rather than being hidden.

  11. Hi, KalamityKel's correct, we cannot give out users' details. I could give them a nudge for you but it looks like it has been sorted anyway.
  12. Hi We're not 100% sure what it's about however we use Cloudflare as a security system on the site and it looks like it is having issues with Post Office broadband. Their IP range may have been used for bad things somewhere on the internet and so that IP range has been marked as dodgy in the database of IP addresses, so Cloudflare puts a check for you PO Broadband users. Hopefully PO Broadband will redeem itself and your IPs will be marked as safe again.
  13. Hi I have some sad news that a long time contributor to the forum, Buddug died last week. We received an email from her sister who asked us to post this as her sister "loved being part of your community" "I am writing with great sadness to inform you that Buddug (my sister) has been involved in a car accident. Sadly, she sustained such great injuries that she only survived the week and passed away Tuesday morning at 2.30am at the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth hospital. She had left East Dulwich a year ago and moved to the Shropshire countryside to run her own B and B. She had an amazing year, living her dream, and was fully booked this summer, achieving so much in such a short time. Friends and community mattered a lot to Anne and I know she valued the interactions and friendships she made through this forum. " Her last post was a couple of months ago: -------------- Who's been using the forum for ten years or more? Posted by buddug June 13 I was on the forum for well over 10 years I think. Happy days, most of the time! Am still mortified by my Sainsbury's avocado thread! 😱! And I still cherish my face to face meeting with Strafer Jack (also no longer here) in the Palmerston - it was quite emotional and uplifting. I Continue to follow you all but have moved to the South Shropshire Hills and set up a B&B. It's beautiful here but I still miss ED/Peckham borders though don't regret move. In fact I always maintain that nearby Ludlow is like ED in the country! And yes, I am still editing my posts - old habits die hard... -------------- Thank you for being a part of our community Anne / Buddug
  14. My response was to Robert Poste's Child post, to clarify the GDPR concern about personal information.
  15. Just to clarify, there was no information given that wasn't on this thread, in fact is was "Someone purchased a diffuser that made them feel ill, would she be entitled to a refund?".
  16. Actually no need to answer that. I did wrong, I apologise, if you want me/us to do anything to make amends let us know.
  17. Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You have made quite a lot of assumptions there. Where?
  18. Like I said, apologies that I overstepped the mark. You were asking lots of questions, seemed uncertain about your situation and a bit upset that you had spent that money on yourself on your birthday and were not sure if you would get your money back. Like I said, apologies ut I thought I was helping you by getting a definitive answer to the question "Do I have any case for getting my money back from the shop I bought them from?" as you had not spoken to them after a few weeks of purchase I thought I would so that you would not have to worry. I've not spoken to the manufacturer.
  19. "Do I have any case for getting my money back from the shop I bought them from? " That question has been answered. I did not give them your name. I did not have a conversation about misrepresentation by the manufacturer of products they are selling, you can do that yourself. ETA: Apologies if you think it odd that I was trying to help you, I was only trying to help you.
  20. Hi Sue I emailed Heals for you and asked about this, they said: "Unfortunately as the diffuser is open we cannot offer a refund, however as a gesture of good will we will be happy to apply some online credit for her towards something new. If you have her email us directly on this email address cservices@heals.co.uk with her original order number we will look after it for her." So, aside from the fact they think you ordered it online, they're happy to give you credit to buy yourself something else nice. :)
  21. Hi We could add a new rule/request that all job ads give the employers' details but that will not solve the issue. A fraudulent person could easily put up fake details, the moderators look at the advert and think, that's fine. The issue is that people freely give out personal information which we would not recommend, I would suggest that they start a conversation (by PM, email, face to face etc) so they can be sure they know who it is, then they can decide whether they send personal info. Unfortunately the forum's not able to screen advertisers or the legitimacy of information posted.
  22. It's usually titles like "cats" or "dustbins" we add (too many in ED) or (not being collected) to make them more descriptive. I'll have a word backstage and perhaps ask people to lay off the longer titles.
  23. I'm not sure which ones have been edited and to be honest it'll be time consuming to find out (dome by different people), plus I'm not sure what benefit it' will give to the forum us spending time doing it. I understand what you're saying though, and it is noted and with 50,000+ messages it's hard to get them all clear so people know what they're clicking, and the authors are happy. It is something we've done for 12 years but I sense you're wishing we hadn't edited your title in particular, feel free to change the title back we're really not that precious about it.
  24. No, I've always done to the odd title here and the to make the forum more useable. In fact it's in the terms of the forum that hasn't changed for 12 years "- We also reserve the right to edit or delete postings .... usually the title to make it more relevant."
