Hi, I'm not sure why, I'm looking into it.

Every now and then we have to run some maintenance on the forum to keep it healthy, unfortunately last night's expected 2 hours took 12 hours and still didn't finish so I'm going to have to do it again sometime soon. I do usually try and give notice but a window of opportunity arose last night so I took it. Anyway you may find the forum's running a bit faster and I'm still hoping one day to be able to make it more mobile friendly, it's just finding the time. Have a nice Friday and don't forget to wrap up as it's getting a bit cold out there. Ps if you want the forum to run faster for you, go to the home page and click on all the 'reset new posts' link. It will of course reset all the posts so they'll not be 'new' anymore.

The company mentioned, which shall not be named on here please, threatened us with legal action in the same way as it did Mumsnet, they are well armed with the legalities. It came across as spitting at the fire to make it stop rather than dealing with it properly i.e. making the customer happy. It's a shame as it meant that others in the area couldn't read legitimate reviews about their work.

It's more an advisory note, I'm not going to bomb someone to kingdom come if they post a new thread about Trump. Hopefully it will provide a useful flicker of remembrance of common sense within those who would otherwise start a new thread.

There's too many, so please reduce the trumping. If he does something else, and I'm sure he will, then people can read about it on a news site, please don't start a thread on here telling people the news. If you want to comment about him and his actions, achievements, aspirations, alternative-facts etc please do so, for the time being, on one of the seven threads already in the Lounge. Edited to add: Over time having a few threads about him will become bloated and hard to read, rather like a fat poker player. So please use common sense and keep the number down.

It would mean I'd have to put up a "Stop Trumping" announcement which isn't the point and unfortunately I can't merge the petition ones as I don't trust the merge feature, it's a bit like crossing the streams which isn't good. Unfortunately I think we might have to wait four years for it to blow over, unless of course Trump gets re-elected and we'll have to put up with it all over again. And then Bieber will be voted in and life will take on a whole new dimension.

You are free to post about your experiences however you didn't, you just said you don't rate them, no details about your experience. It's simply spam posts by people employed in India, so they get around the 'bot' filters. They're paid by the number of posts they put up so they're persistent but will hopefully bugger off soon. Great clear up by the moderators!

Sorry about that! Not particularly nice things to read on Christmas Eve but they have been reported to the authorities for abuse. The forum is was in read-only mode so we don't have to worry about it on Christmas Day. Anyway, don't let abusers like that put you off the good things in life. Have a great Christmas everyone.

Hi Alan, not really. This thread is a useful beacon to those who understand the basic fundamentals of life however I'd be daft to ignore that there's always those who want to make their own mark. Nonconformity isn't a bad thing, in fact it's a great thing, but sometimes it is a bit selfish for people to do things "because they can" that interfere with others, like uneccesarily driving in the middle lane of the motorway which does annoy me. But no, a new post in this section asking me a question ain't so bad.
