Love the irony. Yes, because they had nothing to do with the topic and were dragging it down the sewer further. -

Stay on topic -
Sorry about that! Not particularly nice things to read on Christmas Eve but they have been reported to the authorities for abuse. The forum is was in read-only mode so we don't have to worry about it on Christmas Day. Anyway, don't let abusers like that put you off the good things in life. Have a great Christmas everyone.

Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage
Administrator replied to PinkyB's topic in The Lounge
Same user, different username. Blocked again and authorities informed. -
Hi Alan, not really. This thread is a useful beacon to those who understand the basic fundamentals of life however I'd be daft to ignore that there's always those who want to make their own mark. Nonconformity isn't a bad thing, in fact it's a great thing, but sometimes it is a bit selfish for people to do things "because they can" that interfere with others, like uneccesarily driving in the middle lane of the motorway which does annoy me. But no, a new post in this section asking me a question ain't so bad.

because you're looking to drive out this weekend to a large garden center, and that's not an East Dulwich issue or piece of gossip. Now I see you're not looking for an ED business I'll move this to the Lounge.
-
How do you know I only targeted you and not others in this and other threads? Why do you think I am targeting you alone? Maybe other irrelevant posts were removed and the affected users just thought fair enough and got on with their lives.

Because I said please stay on topic of Goose Green roundabout and you said... "...BMW drivers do seem to be prone to aggression and lack of consideration... They're TK Maxx cars - entry level for idiots who believe that a brand name says something about you (other than you're a d1ck)." robbin said: "I like it - more of the same off-topic bigotry, but thinly disguised (by the first of five lines) as a serious and relevant post, in the apparent hope of avoiding The Administrator's 'amber warning indicator'!" You said: "Tactics, my friend." Admittedly I have got out of bed on the wrong side today especially after the spam attack last night, and so spending time clearing up after them means I don't have time for people who should know better. And I really don't have time to go round telling people they've infringed rules or polite requests.

Shocking driving at GG roundabout
Administrator replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Robert Poste's Child Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why did Admin delete my posts? There was nothing offensive in them, unless Admin was driving the BMW in question. At least offer an explanation. A friendly Lounge warning was given, others heeded it but you and robbin ignored it. You're Lounged. The rest of you get back to the topic please. -

ED Barber - homophobia? racism? and a bad haircut
Administrator replied to Jim1234's topic in The Lounge
And on that note I shall move this to the Lounge. There is an excellent BBC Seriously podcast entitled No Platform http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04gsbgy (or look up Seriously on your podcast app). There is an especially interesting bit about 40 mins in about vindictive protectionism, where some people have the attitude that "I'm on the side of the virtuous but can't generally let out my dark side therefore I'm going to look out for someone who's not and lay into them, because I can, especially on line" and also people who look out for things to be offended by, almost a competitive virtuousness. -

Administrator replied to Jim1234's topic in The Lounge
I've moved it back to the ED issues section however I have added ?'s to the title as you are questioning the validity of your statements i.e. if they were definitely racist and homophobic you would go to the police (I hope). -

I've given Alice and Nick some (hopefully useful) tips on running a forum, but I was just thinking it'll be good to know what tips you as a contributor to the forum would give them. ETA: Here's one I forgot earlier... When someone with their first post says how utterly wonderful a salon/estate agent/deli is and gushes on about how it's the best in the area and everyone really must try it, they're open prey.

Please could you explain with a bit more detail so we can investigate. E.g. where do you click on private messages, what gets deleted etc

There was a post on here which seems to have been deleted: "Username: LocalDeals Subject: Re: My post keeps being deleted I've had problems with admin also, can be quite rude and seem to only delete the posts they feel like deleting rather than abiding by the rules themselves" ----------------- LocalDeals. you asked why your posts were being deleted as you said you weren't breaking any rules. I replied "bumping", which was shorthand for "you're posting 'still for sale' on your thread everyday which is excessive bumping up the posts, which is against the rules", in fact here is that rule ... - Do not continually post messages to get your item for sale back to the top of the list ... Excessive "still for sale" posters will have all their messages deleted without warning. You had 3 or 4 of your recent messages deleted so you can imagine it's very annoying when someone breaks the rules and are mildly punished, but then fire back and say we're quite rude and we don't abide by the rule. Please remember we provide a free service and it's volunteers that keep the place tidy, we have better things to do than repeatedly tidy up after the ungrateful.

The best laser clinic ever!!
Administrator replied to lucyjane1990's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It sounds ace and Mrs Admin would love me to get my toes done, they look like an upturned shoe brush. Is it a real laser or fake laser? I've heard that sometimes clinics pretend that they're real but they're not, they send people out to tell everyone that they're amazing but they're, like, just tiny red lights. I notice you posted about the clinich two weeks ago to that say what else is great about this clinic is they provide a whole range of different beauty treatments such as facials, Shellac mani and pedi, Eyelash Extensions and loads of other treatment. You also told us that you were so happy that I have found this clinic. Is it somehow linked to Scientology or to taking recreational drugs? -
how do I remove a thread I created twice please
Administrator replied to tashanice131's topic in The Lounge
I've deleted for you. You can't delete your own threads but you can edit the title/subject and body. -
Me. What's your question?

Sorry you're disappointed with the forum, I guess you get what you pay for eh? And we haven't chosen to ignore your emails, we just haven't seen them. Read the rules, you don't put your address on there so they get deleted. Multiple offenses results in a ban.
