  1. I think I can hear Mockney typing.. could be a long one
  2. I find Prince Charles funny. I think he should have his own show. Never Mind One's Buzzcocks, perhaps?
  3. Well Jah, all that remains is for the Greens to get in, ruin the country, and then you'll have your hat trick. Are there any governments which haven't 'ruined the country' after a decade in power? It's just the way of British politics innit.
  4. I'll be LibDemming it.. same as last time. You there.. stop sniggering.
  5. Ging, I don't disagree with anything you say, but if it's not sustainable - then it won't last.. in which case no-one gets to benefit. I spent a good third of my life humping flight cases around, so I've seen my fair share of rehearsal rooms / hangouts / impromptu venues. The ones that lasted all had one thing in common.. that overheads were largely taken out of the equation. The truth is that bands never have any money, people promoting bands rarely have any money, and people who aren't directly connected with those bands (shagging them, etc) hardly ever want to part with theirs. Occasionally the council could be badgered into providing somewhere, and usually that meant a somewhere that no-one else wanted, but that had its benefits too. The money that came-in from the bands and supporters just about paid for the 'leccy to power the amps and hopefully keep a fridge running, but coudn't cover anything else.
  6. I'm looking forward to stepping out of the mobile-phone-upgrade-rat-race in a few months. My only consideration is trying to decide which of the twelve mobile phones in a drawer I might use first. Always had a soft spot for that Startac..
  7. On all three, Horsebox? That I would like to see. How did you, er, 'fit' the third one? (At least I know why you call yourself 'Horsebox' now)

Absolutely. At the very least, coming to the conclusion that it's happening equally everywhere - because that's what happened in your limited experience, is just as absurd as assuming it never happens - because it hasn't happened to anyone you know.

Yeah - let's ditch the Beeb! We can get ourselves some of that there quality telly - like what they have in America and Australia. Looking forward to it.

It's completely absurd - not to mention insulting - to suggest that within the midst of a group of friends who you haven't even met, that there's guaranteed to be a swathe of abused women, silently carrying on. Absolute bollocks.
  11. I try not to look at it - it hurts my eyes.
  12. I assume they were free-range.
  13. Eggs.. reasonably priced, good weight, long throw, sticky end. Bosh.
  14. It's an image problem for sure.. I've no reason to think anything other than good-eggery on the part of the staff or current punters (hopefully the earlier pointless 'chav' slur can be ignored..) But let's be honest the place looks really rubbish, and not even in an endearingly rubbish way. Just.. pants.
  15. > Don't know what it would take to get me in there > but it hasn't happened yet. Not looking like a cross between a Yates's Wine Lodge and Argos would be a start.
  16. Well it's not exactly 'hidden', is it? Everybody knows where it is. And being at the top of NXR if there's anywhere that ought to be full on the weekend, it ought to be there. I must have walked past it several hundred times and haven't considered going in as of yet. It doesn't look very appealing (more 'a bit rubbish') and I'm guessing I'm not alone, on account of the 'good seating' to be had there. The weird menu makeover they did recently "Sea Bass gently coaxed out of a pristine ocean and persuaded to perch on a light bed of organic loveliness" was even more confusing. Has that been jettisoned now then? Don't know what it would take to get me in there but it hasn't happened yet.
  17. I like Mandelson, on account of him actually being capable and knowing his arse from his elbow.. unlike most rhetoric-monkeys on both sides of the ballot box. As for the slime.. water off a duck's back. If I had absolutely nothing better to do* than purchase a pot of slime, wait patiently for several hours in the hope my target turns-up and then throw it at them as futile gesture in the name, er.. well, just a futile gesture, then I'd go for Blears for sure. She's the worst. *Better things to do might include, say, creosoting the fence or bus-spotting.

Doesn't everybody 'want the top amount'? Even if you just do a paper round?

?46k for Salford. How much for, say, Hull?

They might choose to have a life of their own choosing, as opposed to having the weight of expectation fall upon their shoulders on account of receiving entirely special - not to mention expensive - treatment to that of their siblings.

  24. There's no hope for you I'm afraid, Declan. You're already in too deep by the sounds of it. Forever condemned to sit on a wet plastic seat as the smell of cheap meat and farts wafts through the crowd; or in a pub, lined-up on barstools with your fellow sullen-faced sport-jockeys, staring expressionless at a screen partially obscured by sunlight - as you slowly but surely wend your way towards the grave.
