  1. Aw, Alan. I'm welling up. Sorry certainly the hardest word to say..

  3. As far as I'm aware, if you're not in possession of any family jewels yourself, they just do Keef's again.
  4. I think you have to stand on a stool and allow the others to pelt you with eggs for ten minutes. Then, once the boot polish is on your goolies, you're IN.
  5. It's a nice try, Alan. I almost thought about a serious reply. But then I realised that 'Jeremy Kyle' was about to start.
  6. Who knows... hee hee!
  7. You're right about the book though. I'll give you that.
  8. As ever, Alan, your insight is faultless.
  9. Are you inviting yourself for dinner, Lozzy? The cheek of it. Of course, the magic of the internet means I might not even live in ED at all. I might live in Glasgow. Or in prison.
  10. I can indeed cook a mean curry and often do. But the joy of good In/Pak food is the same as with good Chinese food.. it's the starters, and tasting lost of different things. It's not worth spending 15 hours in the kitchen when you can pay a tenner and get top-notch stuff put down in front of you.
  11. Sree Krishna.. Lahore Karahi, Radha Krishna, Mirch Masala, Vijiya Krishna.. Tooting is spoiled for choice. There is nothing here. Nothing, I say!
  12. You may flagmark her dubious literary opener by way of a diversion, Alan. But the truth is much closer to home. ie - her home.. and your home.
  13. When it comes to Indian / Pakistani food, it tends to be ignorance rather than stupidity. Still, it's not hurting anyone. Let the Chicken Tikka Masala flow...
  14. Too right, downsouth. She still lives there (despite probably being able to live somewhere much nicer), drinks locally, shops locally.. but it seems all this counts for nothing if you've done 'something funny' to your house.
  15. Give her a break, Alan. She's your very own local celeb.. you should be thankful someone of any note at all wants to stay round there.

Whenever I see a posting followed by lots of exclamation marks, the mental image of the author that I have is that of Stu "I could crush a grape" Francis - from Crackerjack. Don't worry, Keef. I've seen pictures of you and I know there isn't much of a resemblance.
  20. Santasangre... seeing as this forum is mainly comprised of people who either already live in ED (or wish they did), it would be interesting to hear from a 'potential' incomer for a change. Where are you coming from? What have you heard? What is your perception of SE22?
  21. 1. You'll be safe in the knowledge that a frilly cushion, a twee breadbin or a jar of jam for ?5 is never more than a few minutes away. 2. You can save yourself the pain of buying in Nunhead, Camberwell, Brockley and spending the next ten years twiddling your thumbs waiting for something.. anything.. to happen. 3. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your moving to ED is helping to keep those all-important house prices on that ever-upward trend. 4. You can finally put to bed those foolish thoughts of being able to afford some nice to live which also has good transport links. 5. When people ask where you live, you can simply say 'Dulwich'. They'll never know. Against? You might win the lottery and then you'll have to move again.

Emoticons. I despair. I'm aware that 90% of the people love sprinkling them liberally around their postings, so I'll try not to go-off on one. But really. Come on. They're for dummies;-). They're no better than idiotic abbreviated text messages or putting a hundred exclamation marks after every sentence!!!!!!! I know most people here use them lazily (and more often than not just because everybody else does) - so naturally you're all forgiven. But they're still for dummies.
  23. South London.. you know.. poor transport links.. subsidence.. bad shopping.. HOME! I like South London. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I cross the river. Have tried the Anchor & Hope and found it very much like the St John Bread n Wine in Spitalfields. ie, overrated. Ok, but no cigar. Maybe it's just not quite my type of food. I'm finding this current (ie last 10 years) trend of the gourmetfication (is that a word?) of little-used cuts of meat a bit.. annoying. It's like some chef's chest-beating competition to find the hardest possible thing thing to make taste good.
  24. Alan? ALAN! Get in here.. this thread's got your name written all over it..
