Asset - perhaps if you hadn't spent so much on a Bugaboo, you could afford to eat in the Palmerston more often. Just a thought! "Holds its value for resale"?!?.. c'mon folks. It's a pram, not a car. And the resale value is exactly the same as any other pram: Approx one third to one half of the price, depending on how much jam is stuck to it. So I suppose you could say it holds its value just as well as any, er, Alfa Romeo.

We wandered past last week. Written on the sandwichboard outside was: "SMART CASUAL DRESS ONLY". Reading between the lines, I think this means "IF THIS USED TO BE YOUR PUB, WE'D RATHER NOT HAVE YOU BACK" Unfortunately (for me, anyway) 'smart casual dress' conjures-up unpleasant memories of rubbish nightclubs I went to when I was 16.. with lots of carpet and chrome and under-agers wearing their older brother's jackets and slacks.

It's no surprise that no-one religious wants to stick their head above the parapet on this one. Let's face it, agnostics and atheists have all the best arguments and they've had years to get them straight in their heads. It's easy to shoot-down believers who try to take the non-believers on at their own game. If you know a little history and a little science (which everyone here does) then you can't lose. But if somebody popped-up on this thread and simply said: "I know there is a God because I can feel Him" - what would you say?

The questions are the same. The answers are the same. Why bother?

I think I was being reasonably clear when I said about not wanting to rehearse tired old arguments about religion. But others: feel free to knock yourselves out!
