  1. Perhaps it was a nod to this helpful suggestion you made, but a few weeks back? Reap / Sow Cream Tea in Dulwich Posted by sb2370 April 16, 04:50PM Can anyone recommend a nice place for a cream tea in Dulwich? Thanks *** re: Cream Tea in Dulwich Posted by Louisa April 17, 04:38PM Go to Devon and have the real thing.

  3. Louisa.. Congratulations on your upgrade from Boots sarnies - to THE original aspirational yuppie sandwich of choice. Great to have you on board.

  11. Lady D - Did your pie and mash come with scurvy and rickets, or did you have to order those separately?
  12. Pie and Mash. Been there. What is there to say? It's exactly what you expect. A cheap pie. A pile a mash. Parsley sauce - I mean, Jesus. PARSLEY SAUCE. Why are these shops dwindling over the years? The bottom line is that people have found something (all kinds of somethings) better to eat - and they've voted with their feet.

  18. I have too, Jeremy. I believe I settled the bill using a thin piece of plastic which grants the holder a means of instantly acquiring goods or services with resulting charges instead being applied to a rolling account that either be settled at the end of each month or partly paid with the remaining balance subject to interest charges.
  19. Has anyone been to one of those temporary dining setups that are often used by aspiring restauranteurs as a way of trying stuff out without the full and ongoing commitment of opening-up a proper restaurant?
  20. We should ditch this daft 'street food' title, which stupidly manages to sum-up exactly what it is in no more than two words - and go with something else. I suggest 'food sold on non-rigid plates from a mobile catering facility which does not have a licence to sell intoxicating liquor'. "You fancy grabbing a bite to eat after work tonight" "Sounds good. But I don't really want a full sit-down restaurant thing. Why don't we just grab some food sold on non-rigid plates from a mobile catering facility which does not have a licence to sell intoxicating liquor?"
  21. i FOR ONE am just being a bit of a knob
  22. i FOR ONE can see no difference why a restaurant with tables, chairs, interior design costs and maintenance, tableware, a fixed location, waiting staff, rent, costly utility overheads, insurance for all - would be in any way different from just selling food from a van.
  23. I think the key to internet dating - initally anyway - is just not to say anything weird. Just go with something regular and standard which won't put anyone off. 90% of potential respondents will just go on the picture anyway, so all you can do with the text is blow it.
  24. Not tried it, but I imagine speed dating is the most efficient form of dating. A minute or two is probably all you need with anyone - to make a decision as to whether to take it any further. Unfortunately (so I'm told) it's also the one the attracts the highest proportion of 'not with a bargepoles'.
