    Marillion

They would have got 10p-15p for every album sold at full price. They had stingy deal which they were locked into for several albums. To quote Creme Brulee.. 'it's a shit business'
  2. The main bugbears seem to how well they upscale DVDs, how well they deal with fast motion, how noisy the player is and how quickly the player reads the disc (some players take bloody ages to start playing a disc in the first place, let alone resume!). Lots of variation from player to player. Just read the reviews and head for the Best Buys.

  4. They look pretty darned good (and significantly better than DVD) but I think you need the right screen (ie big and high quality) to get the most of the format.

  6. Try this one: Two men grow-up on different sides of the street. One on a council estate, the other in a flat-fronted Georgian four-storey terrace with plantation shutters, a giant etched-glass number over the door and a magimix juicer (used twice). The man in the council flat, whilst high on Cash In The Attic, comes-up with the idea for an iPhone App which cleverly allows the user to see the back of their head - in real time. His neighbour over the road then brings the app to market - achieving global sales of 22m Who is right?

I've still got one. I wonder if it still works? It was only one-up from asking potential clients to give you three rings though really.

A thermometer? You don't even get that with an iPhone.

64g of rock-bottom no-frills basic phone action. That's GOT to be hard to beat. I salute you.
  13. Useful as ever. Congratulations on your retirement, by the way.
  14. My Nokia 2330 (free) is coming to the end of it's contract (?4.99 / month). What's my next step? What's the must-have crap phone of 2013?

  16. Not a state funeral, but it's one hell of a send-off. Like so many others, I simply assumed it was part of a secret agreement with cross-party consent to annoy George Galloway.

  24. In the news this week, I saw.. - a group of people, still sitting in the social club of a town that died over a quarter of a century prior, heckling the reporter over the mention of a prime minister who left office 20 years ago. I also saw.. - a man so desperate to find a better life that he was prepared to risk stowing himself away in the cargo hold of a jet and died from either exposure or falling out of the plane over London.
