OK I'll have it then. Even before his number came up, he was always in trouble.

Wait a minute, Rats rife in East Dulwich? Rearrange the first two words and it's I, Strafer in East Dulwich? Who it seems is keeping the thread subtly prominent. StraferJ'accuse! Can one of the gimlet-eyed eyed captains of industry who frequent the EDF check out StraferJ's portfolio and check how heavily invested he is in Rentokil? Also look for companies with names like 'Mice - Them Hoors' and 'Baiting For Godot'. I think I see a scandal on a par with the false police of Crystal Palace Road emerging here.

Well just a 'heads up' but any time you come across PhilomenaBlasted or CarltonTremendously , well... you never know, s'all 'm sayin'.

If by some bizarrely unlikely circumstance it's not Sheldon Cooper (think Superman Bizarro world, and you think it hard, mister!) then it's The Green Lantern. Without a doubt. My turn. Edited because My Lord, I misspelt a word. Bizarro indeed.

With only the most infinitesimal amount of doubt it has to be Sheldon Cooper.

Of course it'd be as nifty as flip almighty to have a movie house within lurching distance, provided it was the kind of joint that'd show Un Chien Andalou of a Tuesday, Titanic of a Saturday and a BIG BUST OUT FRIDAY ALL THE PERONI YOU CAN DRINK showing of It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. But anyway, let's not get too lit up about it, Jeez, Brixton Ritzy's practically, yard. Bruv.

Michael Corleone? I never googled, and that's the last time I let you into my business, 'kay.

People I mean. Dangerous car drivers will surely bring down criticism and disapproval on their heads, deservedly so. Cyclists, will surely be, for the most part, ignored unless one of them does something unpleasant. I'm people by the way.

Look, stop it OK, satire's all well and good but well, actually it was pretty funny.

Where has the Electrical shop cafe gone???

Parking isn't going to prevent anyone from going to a good eating house. Any time I've been to Chez Bruce I've gone with people who've managed to get there oh! and back perfectly well. We live in LONDON if it's worth going to it's worth getting THE bus, THE train, A cab. PARKING? Parking my *rs*. Not required. -
tfwsoll Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > >>>(I Ain't Gonna Take) Another Story - Jimmy & > Coleen Jones ????????????? Yes, Tfwsoll, busted, though frankly I've been more blatantly fictitious than that before, so well done. Though this was the only one that had any personal significance. My Uncle Jimmy's funeral is next week. He was a resolute bachelor for most of his life and as a kid I recall when he visited he'd be a 'ten bob note' uncle whose visits I would relish. Not altogether for pecuniary reasons he was funny and lively and wore what I perceived to be 'cool' garments as opposed to my parents who were of course ancient relics. He informed me that the vapour trails from aircraft were left by the pilot sticking his hand out of the 'plane's window and holding a brush loaded with whitewash up to the sky. A far more imaginative and fanciful reason than the dry truth which went on to inform my outlook/thinking. Possibly had something to do with failing my Physics O' Level, but well... Anyway he met Coleen in his fifties and they wed. Very happy they were until she died about 10 years ago. Jimmy, broken-hearted (it seems a trite phrase/diagnosis but an existential pain became a constant in his life) and he resorted to the bottle (not in the least abstemious prior to this) but in a fashion that meant there was only going to be one outcome. Sorry, this isn't a thread for this, really, just my self-indulgent musings. Come, move on. Funny about the vapour trails though...

edhistory Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Permitted operating hours are from 09:00-18:00 > during the week and 10:00-18:00 on the weekend." Of course EDH. But a 'drink' or three in the right (wrong?) mouths, some judicious distribution of those cards that ensure Brit rappers/popstars get free scran in Nandos and a similar local arrangement for the WIMPY (perhaps involving a handshake?), all would be well. That'd get the 'red tape' cut. I quote the Chancellor of the Exchequer from his Mansion House speech 2013 "The Bank of England has had the difficult task of balancing the risks from inflation with the need to support the economy. BUT there's always a SHORT cut if'n you got the LOOOOONG green, yea baby" So, from the short distance from the Chancellor's thinking brain to his speaking mouth, there you have it. -
Ulverscroft rd cordoned off

Oh, how disappointing , I thought the thread title was indicating a permanent bricking up of the place, and not before time, thought I. But it seems they're allowed out again. Wouldn't happen in a proper police state but you vote for nanny, this is what'll happen. I mean, have you ever met an Ulverscoftian? You haven't? Well done. Keep it up. For the time being to all those 'in the know' keep an eye on them, they bear watching. -

Taytos and red lemonade, I'm six again sitting in Bradley's pub in Laban with my family. I was about to go on about it being Proustian and everything but I might want to visit Bradley's some time soon and I'm unsure as to the number of poets/writers might frequent it these days. I wouldn't want to alienate or bore anyone to sleep. So, so far as Bradley's goes I'll work on the basis Proust=Stupor and just leave it at that.
