I have looked at a few reviews for this book and it seems to be good for giving babies a routine but nothing as rigid as Gina Ford. My baby is 8 weeks old and I wondered if anyone has used/followed this book and if they recommend it or not for tips/ideas. Be interested to hear peoples views and also if they would recommend a different one. We are trying to follow a loose routine and don't want anything too rigid. Thanks! Sally

I have stayed at martinal twice (worked in travel until maternity) so any questions ask away but set recommend! Just be aware can be quite windy but pool areas quite sheltered! -

Hi I can't make the 7th either as it's my birthday :) but would love to try and make the next one if one is organised before the big day! Sally x -
Hey Pol! I have checked this out and I don't think you can use the Avent bottles but as it comes with one Medela bottle people have said to me you can just transfer the milk to the other bottle. Do you want to borrow mine until I need it? Then at least you can see how you get on with it? x

iCandy Cherry v Babyjogger City Mini (4 wheels)
Salsie replied to Salsie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks everyone! I have gone for the Babyjogger with Carrycot which sounds like people prefer over the icandy cherry. Snowboarder thanks for the info re the new parent facing one, but decided lighter weight and carrycot will suffice! Also got the good deal from Kiddicare so very happy! -

OK - So I am leaning towards the Babyjogger City - I think the Versa will be slightly heaver from what I can see and about ?100 more expensive - Do you think the parent facing aspect is worth the extra (I'm sure there will be others 'extras' too) I'm happy to spend more but if babies tend to face away after the carrycot anyway, then will I need it, although snowboarder I can certainly see the attraction! Thansk again for your replies, this is making my decision easier. Tell me I'm right to be choosing this over the Bee!! -
iCandy Cherry v Babyjogger City Mini (4 wheels)
Salsie replied to Salsie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks MrsLL2B and snowboarder. You have confirmed a few more reasons why i am swaying towards the Babyjogger MrsLL2B! quite a few people on reviews ahve mentioned the nice big hood on the babyjogger, although weight wise there doesn't seem to be much difference between the 2. Price wise the icandy is ?320 for the main chassis and the babyjogger ?280 although after the add ons the babyjogger would be cheaper. Snowboarder the city versa sounds like it could be a good option. The babyjogger mini can have a parent facing carrycot, and am I right in thinking once your baby goes in the seat it is likely they would face forward anyway, so not sure if the non psrent facing seat is an issue or not?? There is an excellent 20% off voucher code sale at Kiddicare which ends today so if I make my decision I will order the one I want! if anyone else needs to buy anything the code is TREAT20 and applies for anything on their website! -
I am trying to decide between these 2 pushchairs and wondered if anyone has any advice/experience of the 2. Both are nice and lightweight but both have pros and cons. I love easy fold of the Babyjogger but the carrycot looks a bit awkward whereas the icandy carrycot looks nicer and also folds compactly, although the carrycot is heavy! Price wise they are similar so a bit stuck. Any advise/recommendations appreciated. I was also considering the Oyster but have discarded this for now unless anyone can persuade me otherwise!! Thanks, Sally

Tess Hello! I am 23 weeks and want to also apply for the free Antenatal classes with King's. I called and they said there is a form in my maternity notes but I couldn't see anything... Can you let me know please how you went about it. Thank you Sally -
Thanks for your replies and I am in agreement with the service from Haart. We are more than happy with them, just wondered if moving helps attract more viewings... We have decluttered as much as we can but space is the main reason we are looking to move! I am preganant and panicking as we need to move before my maternity leave begins, but I guess I just have to be patient and as you say Henryb it will be dependant on the day what someone wants to pay!

We have been trying to sell our flat through Haart for about 2-3 months now, but without any luck! We are happy with the service we have recieved from them and have had a steady number of viewings. We have also reduced the price recently and before we put it up for sale the other estate agents we had valuing it all put it around the figure we are asking for (in fact it's slightly less now). My question is has anyone found changing estate agent has made any difference when selling their property or does it now all come down to Rightmove etc and not make a massive difference? I know people will say reduce the price etc etc and we have, but I have been told we are correctly priced and also if we reduce any more we can't afford to move, so as much as I know if we reduce by 20k we would probably sell it tomorrow that's not an option! Thanks!

Hello! We are having to move out of ED :( not enough space, but have yet to sell our flat. I am going to sign up for NCT classes where we are moving to so I can meet some new mums, but in case we are still here would also like to sign up to some free NHS classes... I am having our baby at Kings (due 17th Decemeber) does anyone have any details about the NHS ones so i can sign up! Thank you! Sally x -
Strawbs We're also looking at Chislehurst. Only 18 mins to Charing Cross and nice villagey feel to it!
-
We're looking at Kent too! Definately can't afford ED and Nunhead is also out of our budget... Where in Kent are people moving to out of interest? Not really wanting to move but we have a one bedroom flat and baby on the way and we can buy a 2/3 bedroom house for the same price as our 1 bedroom flat.

burglaries in Forest Hill/East Dulwich areas
Salsie replied to concita's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We recently recieved a letter which I think was from the council/police (I can't quite remember) warning us of the recent spate of burglaries in the area and how to protect our property better and to be more vigilant. So whatever the facts say I have lived here for over 3 years and this is the 1st time i have ever recieved anything like this, or for that matter to hear about so many break-ins on here...
