  1. Awesome, thanks guys, will give them all a call.
  2. I would be interested also. Does anyone know, is it possible to get a skip company to organise the permit?
  3. 2sisters is usually pretty reliable and not overpriced.
  4. Nunhead is definitely nicer than Peckham! I'm guessing the article must be about Dulwich Village, which is very nice but there's not an awful lot going on, though perhaps that's part of the appeal. Lovely houses, roads and green space.
  5. I was on that train this morning to Blackfriars and yep, there were plenty of people who were unable to get on.
  6. Herne Hill is a pretty affluent neighbourhood, I would say. The Sevenoaks/ Orpington train is packed whenever I get on it at, as Renata says. Southwark did very little to notify its residents of these changes whereas the Wimbledon route got lots of coverage. A real shame.
  7. Christ, i'd say Southwark will approve anything based on some of the eyesores i've seen constructed.

    Gyms

Yeah it would be nice to go to a local gym, there is a serious lack of decent gyms in this area. Heard good things about this place in Hither Green: http://optimallifefitness.com/uncategorized/test-training-centre/
  9. http://www.zipposcircus.co.uk/ Click on 'Click here to join our internet club and buy discount tickets for Peckham'
  10. Thanks for bringing attention to the Circus, I hadn't realised it was there and have just booked tickets to go :-)
  11. I'm not sure a chain restaurant will really service anyone other than those who live in ED. I like Wagamama but I wouldn't be rushing out to ED just for that.
  12. Disgusting. 3 guys attack one woman. Real brave. Argh I wish I was Batman sometimes.
  13. but does ED have good facilities? It has good restaurants and pubs but in terms of actual amenities its lacking like a lot of south london is. 3 'gyms' as an example and not one of them worth joining is a particular pet gripe.
  14. "surely its better to go directly to the hospital, and cut out the middle man (ie the police)" I'm sorry but if someone was trying to grab my ankles in the street then the police would and should be be the first point of call.
  15. From the bigger chains I quite like POD's coffee. There is also a Taylor ST coffee place near my office which is pretty darn good.
  16. This is good news on home delivery! I too have been using Ocado but will look at the Waitrose option now also. Really interesting to know a bit more of the history of rye lane if not a little sad to realise it's former glory.
  17. And this is now resolved. Phew..
  18. Ok, so you did get a tree in the end ;-) Fingers crossed it will make an appearance later...
  19. Does any body know the guys who are selling the xmas trees on lordship lane (near bric a brac store and roullier white). I paid for a tree there yesterday with the promise of it being delivered in a few hours and the next day it still hasn't turned up. My partner went down there earlier, left his number and was told the boss wasn't around but would call but 4 hours later still no phone call. It was perhaps stupid of me to pay upfront with hindsight but has anyone else had a similar problem? Partner is going to go down there later and try again to speak to 'the boss'. I just want a tree!
  20. It would be great to have something like 'Union' in fulham broadway. Use it regularly as it's near my gym and to be honest I wish I had one near home! http://www.unionmarket.co.uk/ Could def live without an m & s, not that exciting.
  21. Have to agree with Voyageur, really not sure why this is being dragged up on here?
  22. And I went twice at the weekend. Sat for coffee and Sun for food pieces which were lovely and not over priced. Lovely to have somewhere in a 5min walk radius from my house, hope its does well!
