  1. I wonder if bursaries come out of Scheme of Management funds that everyone living on Dulwich Estate have to pay? Anyway back to the point, no coaches but there are far too many cars driving up Calton Ave now with just the driver in them. That is what we should be targeting. Where are they going or have just been? Then we might get some pointers on how to stop the wretched pollution hitting our children as they walk through the fug.
  2. Can someone tell me, after the coaches have dropped kids in the morning at JAGS/Alleyn's, how they turn round to get back to Dulwich Village where they turn after being in East Dulwich Grove? And how others go onwards from this drop off? Where do they go? Surely they are not parked in Townley all day - or are they?
  3. Three in Pickwick Rd. Never seen them being used.

Hey ho!

  6. I'm sorry the message from Southwark Highways was recalled so it can't be published on here
  7. Hot off the press!!! Helen Hayes tweeted this earlier today: Pleased to say that following further discussion and representations from me, @CatherineRose6 & @AndySimmons10 Southwark Council has agreed to halt the decision to fell two oak trees in Sydenham Hill Woods so that further options can be explored & community engagement take place.
  8. Why was that still taken down? Report it to 101 or online.
  9. Just give us a general location of your home?
  10. Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > so what now? > They just continue anyway? I think the main protestors have all written to loads of organisations as well as asking the council to re-address the issue. Keep sharing the petition - that is what I have done with everyone I know locally.
  11. Just looked at the petition - 2,400 signatures. The news is really getting out there!
  12. Just how long does it take to remove one from a car?
  13. Ken's on Half Moon Lane. Has improved beyond all bounds in the last couple of years, it is the same guy frying away.
  14. As I'm now registered for news from this petition I heard there is a banner up. I guess tomorrow will be the cut down day.
  15. Renata Hamvas Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have contacted one of the tree officers about > this and I'm waiting to hear back from him > Renata They won't help if the info on the petition website is correct. They have been overruled by Ms Lury.

Maybe this includes all the ones they have taken out when they cleared the cemeteries.

  18. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why don?t they just demolish the footbridge ? They say it is part of the footpath through and they have to protect the floor of the wood I suppose. Have a look at the petition there is more on there.
  19. Just don't join the toxic Forest Hill Rd surgery.
  20. It would be a great idea to write to [email protected] as she seems to be the person pushing this.
  21. This has just been sent to me again - if you search you will see a petition, just in case the link is edited out. Southwark Council are cutting them down - they pre-date the footbridge!! - because it is easier for them to repair the bridge supports. When we are all fighting against pollution and trying to conserve our natural world for our children it is pretty ripe that the council is actually removing trees that do a great job. There is a tree removal notice on them that says from the beginning of November at some point they are being cut. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save-the-cox-s-walk-footbridge-oak-trees

Yes I think there were more local drivers dropping off their children in previous generations but it is nothing to do with protecting the rights of women who are mothers, to work. They should be using public transport after they have delivered their children to school. We are much more aware nowadays of the damage done to the environment our children live in, and to them. Create new habits!!
  23. It is time all the Foundation Schools took notice of people who live near to their schools, and for once thought about young local children walking to the two Infants schools and the Hamlet, through the fumes from their cars and coaches. The Alleyn's application has a breakdown of how their total pupil group get to school and most of them could get to school - any of the FS - by public transport.
  24. Jules-and-Boo and first mate are correct. By the way a neighbour of mine wrote to the golf club and she said she had quite an apologetic reply. It means they will maybe advertise their next fireworks party, which is all that is needed.
  25. I did suggest the e newsletters and posters on the many noticeboards around.... of course I don't tolerate the waste of resources or time.
