  1. Did you have her weighed on different scales that usual for the check up? Not sure where you go, I know the ones at DMC weight lighter than the ones at the Townley Road clinic (as had a similar experience). If I were you i would get her weighed on the same scales as you did 2 weeks ago, to compare apples and apples, before worrying too much. Give the health visitors a call or just pop in , when I had the same thing they were lovely.
  2. I would avoid velcro for a 19 month old if I were you. My one velco nappy is now completely redundant after the ease of removal was discovered. Would agree on Bungenius though, but I really would go for poppers! My favourite for my 15 month old is the organic ones. http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/194bumgenius_organic_elementals.asp?item=Bumgenius%20Organic%20Single I use Ultra Liners, have tried others but these have been the best for me. I have some fleece ones and poo does tend to just plop off them, but cannot guarantee that :). For slimness some people like flips, but these for me are confined to bedtime with the lovely organic insert rather than the stay dry, as I didnt think the slim stay dries cut it, but others swear by them and they work out really cheap!! http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/SearchResults.asp
  3. We have the same dilema with out (will be then 16 month old). We are thinking Dubai, bit dubious of flight length but the carriers are great - so thinking 6 hours on Emirates would be ok? Also the service out there is amazing, and they love kids and are well set up for them. Its pricey though and some people are anti Dubai as its not v pretty. We just want mid 20C with lots of pools for the baba!
  4. http://www.borngifted.co.uk/baby-gifts/product/BG-888 I have done this with all my godchildren (as agree about the money boxes etc - they end up with like 10!)
  5. Hi, We have a 14 month old and looking in to a group 1+ rear facing but won't fit in the car - well it will but a passing wouldn't (and I am 5'3") and we are gutted. However, we think we are going to go with the Kiddy forward facing alternative after speaking to people at Peppermint on Northcote Road. Not rear facing but the next best thing - just in case others have the same dissapoitment.
  6. thanks all - i will continue as is (when morning sickness subsides - I dont are at the moment for fear of puking on her head!) and get to a sling meeting. Thanks again. Pelvic floors, great point! I have forgotten EVERYTHING!! :)
  7. We tried everything, including the OCC which I agree is brilliant. The eventual answer for us was a probiotic called Biogaia (you can get online). Worked in 3 days after weeks of non-stop horror. But hopefully all is solved and you dont need that!
  8. Hi, I am 12 weeks preggers and have a 14 month old pram hater. She is not the best walker (as has cute but useless tiny feet) and has spent the last year in my Beco butterful, mainly on my front. Just wondering what people in a similar position have done with respect to carrying while pregnant - stop?? Carry on? Back carry with a special knot? Any advice would be welcome - thanks!
  9. Probiotics were a lifesaver for us with our colicky baby - we used one called Biogaia from about 12 weeks til about 6 months, and it was a miracle. I has antibiotics in labour which we think killed her good bacteria (completely non-medical opinion!!). We did stop but mainly cos of the cost(!) and being out of the colicky phase, plus my now 14 month has the constitution on an ox (famous last words - in 5 minutes nursery will call saying she has been sick). I would not hesitate to reintroduce if she had any more tummy issues. The probiotic we used was infant specific though, and just 10 drops on a spoon (or in a bottle, if you were lucky enought to have a bottle willing child unlike me!). I also researched at the time, especially as she was so little, and could only find positive things on probiotics for kids, but thinking moves on so thats not to say theres no negative evidence out there - maybe I just didnt dig too deep?
  10. Pure potions is gorgeous, really effective and smells lovely. Also can be used as a salve for other things (and a lip salve for you!). Recommended by the nappy lady http://www.purepotions.biz/shop/page/12?sessid=46LSbigIUBP0KjqEGUyQ0WF7MNVW4L6IyU841aX7Ct3HUzZ9p5EbO1cYkpWC22kU&shop_param= available a lot of places and lasts forever.
