  1. Update: Here's what was dumped: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/charliemoseley/20130731_185553_zpse929c359.jpg I spoke to Foxtons who manage the property where the individual was a tenant yesterday morning and explained what happened. Tanya at Foxtons was very good and made some calls to the landlord of the property. Apparently the landlord paid a company to remove the goods which had been left in his flat, and the company dumped all the tenant's stuff in my road. This morning the rubbish has all been collected. I would now like to find out which company dumped rubbish on my street. Tanya is now on holiday. I will keep trying to find out and will name and shame them when I do. Burbage, regarding my opinion on the council, I believe they don't work as hard as me, and in my experience if one wants to take action against a company or individual that has dumped rubbish one needs to do it oneself. 2. I thought I had this sorted earlier with the very kind help of Foxtons Lordship Lane, and had Southwark News journalist calling me for details of the story. Unfortunately, for now, the crap is still in my street. Will pursue leads again in the morning and when I have it resolved I will post an update, including naming and shaming the company that decided it was easier to dump the stuff in my road than take it to the dump. And yes, I am a man, and no, I am not going to assume the identity of a female East Dulwich resident (that's for Sunday evenings at the special club I attend). Charlie
  3. She was previously a tenant renting via Foxtons, and Foxtons have her mobile number so I just popped in there, showed them the photo of the dumped rubbish, and they have agreed to call her and hopefully appeal to her to remove her crap. Watch this space... Charlie
  4. The waste was dumped in my street, not in the street where she lived. Someone has pulled up in a van, unloaded loads of rubbish onto the street and driven off. I have had experience of reporting to the council before. Without proof they can do nothing. Charlie
  5. I have found a pile of stuff dumped in our street. This happens regularly and it annoys me. In this case the dumper has left suitcases, household waste, dilapidated furniture and other crap. Two of the items have an address in Ardbeg Road where East Dulwich Resident lived until two days ago when she moved out. So does anybody know her and/or know where she's moved to? When I track her down I'll be encouraging her to collect her stuff from my street. Charlie 0742 961 1696
  6. ?200 per square foot is a decent price for land - ?400k for a 2000sqft plot to build on. Your neighbour wants around 60sqft so start with a price of ?12k and then agree a price that you are both comfortable with. As has been said, you probably wont change the value of your house by selling it. You can also do the forms yourself at the Land Registry using form TP1 (transfer part of a property). Very straightforward, and no need for lawyers, or surveys. Charlie
  7. I found the people in Green and Blue rude once so never went back in the six or so years that it has been on Lordship Lane. Good luck to the incoming people! Charlie
  8. I go to Gran Canaria every year in early Feb. The weather is blazing hot - like a desert. Yes it is a bit windy but it is the best way to start the year tan wise. It's an easy place to be as long as you don't mind shopping centres full of Germans. Cape Verde is supposed to be nice too but the lack of Easyjet and budget hotels has put me off. Charlie
  9. The Minkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why on earth does it exclude tenants overstaying a > lease I wonder? Squatters aren't people who have overstayed a lease. If you have/had a contract then you are not a squatter. A squatter (or an adverse possessor in legal terms) is not a tenant and cannot be on or in the property with permission. I think this is an interesting development in the law and will have to be tested. For individuals who are living in property where the owner died years ago or where there is no registered owner what is the rationale for kicking them out or criminalising them? I think it would have been better for the government to legislate to speed up the process of legally evicting squatters rather than making residential squatting illegal. Charlie
  10. The waste treatment centre on the Old Kent Road will take paint. Charlie
  11. I don't believe that hypnosis exists - you don't enter a hypnotic state when hypnotised, you just believe that a hypnotist has some power over you. A hypnotist is going to tell you an approach to diet, a plan to exercise more and to give you techniques for sleeping. If you believe that hypnosis works and you are suggestive then during your session you may listen to what he's saying but a hypnotist is not a sleep expert or a diet expert or an exercise guru. If you want to exercise more, go to a personal trainer and sign up for six weeks. If you want to diet, research diets and choose one that suits you. If you want to sleep better, try to analyse what is preventing you sleeping or go to a doctor. Charlie
  12. If you still have the clamp on, just call the police. The police will tell them to remove it.
  13. Having recently given up work and finding myself with time during the week I'm wondering if there's anybody local that fancies a regular run during working hours. Anytime is good for me Monday to Friday 9-5. I'm fittish and just did a half marathon but looking to run five miles ish or more. Any takers? PM me or text me 0742 961 1696. Charlie
