I see that someone has stuck a post-it note on William Rose's window saying ' Dealers in Death'.... Even as a veggie I think this is a bit harsh... Should of course be 'Dealers in organic death' ;-)

We've had lunch in the Uplands a couple of times and it was fine. I don't think it's too bad in there though a bit quiet. But the food was actually quite good.

Will be there if it's not raining....do you have a plan B if it is? The pub I guess...

I know, I agree, and providing veggie food is not really that difficult I wouldn't have thought...

Have never eaten there but am surprised they do not do any veggie options? Still shocking. Mind you as a veggie you do get this sort of thing a lot. Was once at a conference in Paris (the Hilton no less) and said I was veggie well in advance as the French are not really known for their vegetarian food. I got a main course eventually - broccoli, rice and pineapple. Mmm.. how yummy....

I also use that stop - usually there around 7.30am. Do see the same people there but nobody ever speaks or smiles! Mind you I don't always feel like smiling on a Monday morning! And I know I am not the only one...

Has anyone been to / thinking about going to the comedy nights upstairs at the EDT? The next one is this Thursday - I think they are held every two weeks.

Drinks this Friday at the Plough, on Lordship Lane (see map here) from about 7:30 onwards. It's recently been refurbished and has a nice large outside area. There's no requirements for coming, it's just people from (and around) East Dulwich getting together to have a drink. There will be a few forum regulars there and there's always a few people who turn up just because they've been on the forum and want to come and say hi to other locals. And of course people turn up because it's an excuse for a drink. If you get there and don't know who the forum people are just ask behind the bar and they'll point you to the crowd. Oh, and people talk to each other with their normal names, not their forum names, that would be geeky. Hope to see you all there :)-D ps the next drinks will be a celebration of the forum's 1st birthday, probably 21 or 22 September pps some of the following messages relate to when the drinks were originally on the 3rd August, as you can see a few people couldn't make it so it was changed to the 10th [edited by the Forum staff to be an announcement as it's the first post on this topic, thanks georgia]

Just been to The Plough - like the makeover very much. Will definitely be going again and I think it will be a good venue for our next EDF drinks
