Quite honestly I don't care what ED was like 12 years ago - I moved here 3 years ago because of the restaurants and pubs and train links to London Bridge. I am sure that's why most people moved live here! I actually don't think that ED is anything special and there are loads of other areas of London I would rather live in. Personally I do not see any problems with Clapham. Re-generation of areas should be seen as a positive thing as far as I am concerned. I think all this debate about ED being the new Clapham, and this being a bad thing, is getting boring. Sorry if it was a shock for you coming back after 12 years but did you really expect it to be exactly the same?

I think I'd prefer good pubs selling food and cafes and boutiques to charity shops and whatever else used to be here. Who would have wanted to live in ED 12 years ago - I heard it was a no-go area a few years ago.

I think it may the area to the right of the entrance, round the corner, in the alcove. Hope that makes sense! But it may not be....hopefully it should be marked as for the ED Forum.

I agree - lots of food, good service and great cocktails. I recommend it too.

Hi We moved here at the recommendation of a friend and because at the time I worked near London Bridge so the 10 min train journey appealed. Also liked the number of bars / restaurants on Lordship Lane. We are only renting at the moment but are planning to buy this year. However not sure if we will stay in ED at the moment. The thing I do not like about the area is the areas around it.

Looks like it has opened today - judging by the balloons outside..... Not that I will be venturing in - us poor vegetarians!!!:'(

Back to topic - reserved area in EDT confirmed for the 24th, 7.30 onwards.

Ok - I have asked the EDT to reserve us an area from 7.30pm on 24th Feb. They just need to confirm with me that this will be ok but should be fine. See you all there!:))

Are we going for Sat 24th Feb then - meet 7.30ish in the EDT? Do you think it's worth me trying to reserve us an area there? It does tend to get v busy in there.

We ate at Surma after its award and it was fine but no better than Curry Cabin or Coriander. Still think Tandoori Nights is the best in ED.

I think the EDT would be better space-wise but it does get very busy in there. Does Sat 24th Feb sound ok with everyone?

15th no good for me. Must admit would prefer a Fri or Sat evening but will go with the majority. How about Friday 23rd Feb?

Are we saying meet on 27th at 7.30pm at the Magdala?

It's great to read so many positive things about the hospital - we are always hearing a lot of negative stuff about the NHS, dirty hospitals etc. As a nurse (not at King's), it's nice to know that we do sometimes do our job well!!

How about meeting in the Magdala as more space and then working our way down LL. I would suggest Sat 27th Jan - or is that too soon? Or is Sat not a good day for most? Someone will have to make a decision (not me)!!
