    a joke

Tony Blair visits Glasgow hospital, and he's shown around by a nurse. In one ward, one patient says to him, "My lurve is leek a rade rade rose..". The next patient says to him "Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie!". Tony says to the nurse: "Is this a Psychiatric ward?". The nurse says: "No.. it?s the serious Burns unit..."

Yes hurrah :) Ms Bullock - very polite of you mightyroar!
  3. Poor little foxes... I think the ED foxes are partial to a take-away curry - the rubbish bags outside Coriander are always torn open in the morning. Maybe a bowl of Chicken Vindaloo would keep them off the lawn...

    a joke

What's a Shitzu? An zoo with no animals I phoned the local gym and I asked if they could teach me how to do the splits. They said, "How flexible are you?" I said, "I can't make Tuesdays or Thursdays." So Batman came up to me and he hit me over the head with a vase and he went T'PAU! I said "Don't you mean KAPOW?? He said "No, I've got china in my hand."
  5. What has all this got to do with nurses being under valued?! Still not quite sure what or who you have a problem with. Think you must have a big chip on your shoulder... And I am also a nurse.
  6. I've a spare fiver if that's any good... Interesting idea but not sure you will get many takers unfortunately. I think most ED residents can just about afford their rent / mortgage.
  7. Really like The Killers at the moment. Bit of an 80s girl though - agree with QZ about The Cure and The Stone Roses. Saw The Cure at the NEC in 1989 and they were fab especially after several cans of Special Vat cider (strictly a Pinot Grigio girl these days you'll be relieved to hear). Also like some cheesy 80s stuff but I'll say no more on that topic...
  8. Congrats Polly! Maybe see you for a drink on the 16th?
  9. We probably should try to get there around 7.30 as the Drum isn't that big and may well get busy later on
  10. See you all there!
  11. Are we meeting on Friday 16th and are we going to the Drum? Haven't reserved any area for us, maybe someone else could ask if going to the Drum before then.
  12. Very nice people just expressing their views I think mattc - as you are also entitled to do On the subject of cycling, why do some cyclists think they can go through red lights? I have lost count of the number of times I have nearly been run over when crossing a road by a cyclist going through the red light.
  13. Er.. why would anyone want to look at pics of dog s**t
  14. Ok CrystalClear is nominated....
  15. If the Drum is the place of choice does anyone have a tel number for it as can't seem to finds any trace of the place on the internet... If not will have to pop in to speak to the owner about reserving an area (might have to have a few drinks while I am there as well)
  16. Mockney piers are you still hungover? Me too.... I agree that Inside 72 too small. And the Drum too possibly on a Friday? How about Uplands as we would def get a space there....:)
  17. Hmm can but try. Is the 16th March ok for everyone though?
  18. Can do 16th, can't do 23rd. I am happy to arrange again if ok with everyone - but will need venue ideas and then I will try to reserve us an area again.
  19. 16th sounds good
  20. Yeah 16th or 17th good. 17th may be very busy everywhere tho
  21. Ok guys where and when are we going to meet up again? Batdog - are you going to organise the next reunion??
  22. The pizzas at the Magdala are pretty good I think...but it would be nice to have a decent Italian restaurant in ED
  23. Yes was great to meet you all. Who's organising the next one?
  24. Yes good luck to them but can't see a mad rush every day to buy cookery equipment etc....especially with all the restaurants and takeways to use in ED...or maybe that's just me ;-)
  25. It makes me laugh how this forum goes on about independent shops vs. chain stores but then some people are very keen to criticise (sometimes quite harshly)local businesses - the glaziers, Green and Blue etc etc. If we want independent businesses in ED then maybe we should be more supportive of them! Though personally I have no problem with chain stores opening as well....
