  1. Energy saving light bulbs, reycyling, composting and using local shops. Its quite easy in ED to do quite a lot. When are we going to see more individual wind turbines net to our chimneys and better grants for solar pannels. Why oh why oh why is it not compulsory for all new builds to have to have grey water recycling, wind turbines and solar pannels.?
  2. Someone smashed the back window of my neighbours car the other day and tried to steal it. Apparently the police told her there is a spate of it at the moment in the area.

  4. Oh yes please that would be great
  5. I think the point is that a non paved front garden is exactly about funtion over aesthetics. It is about rain water having natural ways to disperse rather than putting an increasing demand on our drains. Although its easy to dismiss it with prettyness although I think there is a lot to be said about kerb apperal of buildings with pretty front gardens. Yes yes have a driveway but as mentioned before paving, brick ect is not the only way.
  6. There is deffinetly more love there this time and I'm imagining right now your thinking of some fabulous present to give to each of your sisters. Perhaps take the kids of them for a weekend and pay for them to go to some spa retreat.
  7. Im not sure your really sharing the love there Paul
  8. Thank you mightyroar Yes Clare I think thats been their policy for a while. I hadnt been for a bit but they certinally did it at the Guillemotes. I'm glad Arcade Fire were brilliant, perhaps I will pay more attention next time.
  9. I'm really interested to. Especially after following the other threads about the white stuff and the like. It sounds like beth knows so much about it. Is this something we could all too easily let us pass by when we really could do something worth while as a community in ED. There is a lot of talk about the changes in ED and if they are for the better or not. Perhaps we should stop procrastinating and do something surley a communtiy lead initative is the most posive thing we could do and stop a slip into LL becoming another once was good and now is full of the normall annomonous high street chains. (I still havent gone into Nero and it saddenes me that only a company with that kind of money can afford the rates, imagin how great that space would be if it was an independant coffee shop. There is obviously a niche, yet all that money is flowing back into a corpate company nothing back into our community. We could have a real lounge, a real music room ect they are great concepts and dont just have to be virtual. Any way are there enough people interested at least to properly get together and discuss this or is this going to become a forgotten thread?
  10. I dont mean to be picky but the buthers shop was for micheal caine and it was not the podel parlour but the coffee shop next door. They used the shop opposite (now completly changed) as the funeral parlour that tom courtneys character ran. Bob was in the movie though. Also featured was the exterior of the wishing well (front also now changed scince filming) although it was another one used for interior. In fact most of the film was done in Bellendon road area, peckham and east dulwich boarders.

  20. I definately think an independant Italian resturant is missing. What I really want to do is to get the Picture House to open a small cinema here I've got a ridiculous amount of ideas for that. Also a tea shop next to the butchers where that strange underwear shop was for a while. It could serve take out to all the people queing for the butchers and moxtons. I'd like to run/ manage either of those. Any investors
