I did a meal from Gordan Rs F word. You can find the recipie on line. I think it turned out amazingly and will definately impress and is very little effort. Sadal of lanb with apricots and cumin. Ok its not cheap but if you like lamb and a bit of spice (very mild) you will love it. Also recomend beef wellington or samon en croute all done from same book and great results. I feel like cooking for you I do enjoy it. Butchers will debone lamb for you. Good luck bon apetite

Mother superior Who knew that one so young could reach such a position but it is true that is what you are. I am thinking this bold new look might deserve a pre emtive visit to the hairdressers. Havent been for about nine months!!! You can imagine the state I look I'm not even sure if I should have admitted the lack of attention I have shown to myself really. I am considering going for a blond bob for the summer. I know radical changes are normally for the end of a realationship but I'm thinking it doesnt always have to be that way. This could be a celebration of spring and booze. I currently have my natural colour shoulder lengh mousey brown hair.? Too much of a depature? Kathryn

Do you think you could ask them to invite local ED ers to the final programming. We could all bring a bottle of something sparkeling to celebrate the finish of their home and it would be great if Kevin was there to. Is that a bit sad. I do love that programe.

Thank you mumra Have looked on amazon for cool camping but there are a few to choose. Who wrote your recomendation? Friends went to Cowley Manor and they too recomended it. I hope you have a lovely time. They are all too tempting and the list keeps growing....ah dreaming of luxury weekend away. Hoping your book will make the camping more alluring. -

Blimy my step sister has a house in Vendes and their family camped there every year since forever. It is a small world. Saying that I have been lucky enough to do a lot of travelling and dont think I met any ED ers. But then perhaps I wasnt asking the right questions. Had a strange experience in India. Met some people who were about to start a course in Plymouth then travelled half way across the country and met two other people who were about to start the same course. Barcellona is great. I love Morocco. Closer to home Hurst House in Wales is lovely and remote and Langar Hall in Nottingham is marvelous (in an opulent way Imogin and the staff there are worth the visit alone). My friends are insisting I go camping in England this year. Any suggestions. Im not looking forward to it I prefer brousing through the Mr&Mrs Smith books and thinking of weekends away in a comfy bed. -
It has been a silent help to know there was someone else out there feeling the pain. I to have imagined a virtual drink beside the pool in the lounge but it became a bit painful so i had to leave, very quietly. I have shrunk away from going to bars and dream of a large gin and tonic. In fact a number of alcholic beverages sound really great, but i cant think about it too much. I know the sundays off day was a dupe. Thank you Keef Thank you DM your are my silent rock in this, roll on Easter Sunday. Although I have a feeling Monday morning might be painful maybe a puchase of some especially large sunglasses might be a good Easter gift to self.
-
I also have given up alchol for lent but now I am getting conflicting reports about when I am allowed to start again. I thought it was Easter Sunday? Is the right, help. A vicar said that sundays dont count, that cant be right and defeats the point doesnt it.

Sorry only just turned the page to find the East Dulwich film club. No offense taken I hope. Either way lets see this film
-
Why dont we ask the dulwich film club to do a screening at the EDT?
-
Jeremy - Really. I'm quite sad I thought that would be a winning market. Maybe ice lollies in the summer. There is quite a queue you know. I'm just sad that people seem dont seem to think that independant could do it as well or better than a chain.
-
I've only had good experiences in there... and i love the stuff although recently im much more a window shopper
-
The problem with the empty shops is that the owner is wanting ever increasing rates pushing out the ability for independant owners to get in them. See thead about investors wanted. (please could you link this) I understand how capitalism works thank you. I also dont belive that the end result has to be a bland sameness around every corner. Thank god ED is not quite there yet. I understand the passion for starbucks and that we did well with nero being the best of that chain bunch. It is too easy to pick on these establishments and I understand that it was a great location in sainsburys I too am sad that it should go, it was the perfect place for it. (Although had a similar shop run by a non chain group been there it could have offered the same comforts)
-
I to am in the 1% that does not want it.
-
Please god dont wish for a bland same shop on every high street for ED. Please no otherwise we might as well live anywhere. ED howevermuch people talk about its change has at least avoided the dullness that is seen so many other places can we not remain an oaisis however much samaller than it used to be, there is already trouble in paradise but lets not speed its demise. DM wouldnt even you want pottentially better coffee from and independant coffee shop. Anyone up for investment, Ill run it, have homemade cakes fresh pastries and sandwiches all locally sourced. Run an annex thet would supply people waiting to get into the butchers ect. How about a regular order service with a satalite stand next to train and bus stop so your warm beverage is just waiting for a pickup at the appropriate time. The possibilities are endless not some faceless chain but an individual service for the local community. Not sure whats happened this monday thats the second time Ive got overly involved in the space of an hour.!
-
I agree. Why on earth do we want a tube. Trams would be brilliant, the trains are ok and even the buses can be fine depending on roadworks and the traffic the otherside of the river. Maybe we think that everything should be instant but untill we all have enviromentally sound carbon neutral jetpacts with fast lanes and a 3D roadmaps perhaps its all about making the public transport system work. That would be something for south londoners to get excited about. As would extra services and the lowing of fares. I also contriversoly agree with the CC. Its in an area where we have the highest percentage of public transport. I with they could ban all private cars (obvious exceptions) from that area. What a difference that would then make to the speed of the buses. Oh Im going to stop now after succesfully managing to not rant on various related subjects on this forum I am wondering what enticed me to get involved with this one!

Energy saving light bulbs, reycyling, composting and using local shops. Its quite easy in ED to do quite a lot. When are we going to see more individual wind turbines net to our chimneys and better grants for solar pannels. Why oh why oh why is it not compulsory for all new builds to have to have grey water recycling, wind turbines and solar pannels.?

Someone smashed the back window of my neighbours car the other day and tried to steal it. Apparently the police told her there is a spate of it at the moment in the area.

I think the point is that a non paved front garden is exactly about funtion over aesthetics. It is about rain water having natural ways to disperse rather than putting an increasing demand on our drains. Although its easy to dismiss it with prettyness although I think there is a lot to be said about kerb apperal of buildings with pretty front gardens. Yes yes have a driveway but as mentioned before paving, brick ect is not the only way. -
There is deffinetly more love there this time and I'm imagining right now your thinking of some fabulous present to give to each of your sisters. Perhaps take the kids of them for a weekend and pay for them to go to some spa retreat.
-
Im not sure your really sharing the love there Paul

Thank you mightyroar Yes Clare I think thats been their policy for a while. I hadnt been for a bit but they certinally did it at the Guillemotes. I'm glad Arcade Fire were brilliant, perhaps I will pay more attention next time.
