I think this is one of the things briefly mentioned at the WI first get together. It would be great to get something like this for ED.

Polly D September is not too soon. Give me a PM if your still interested. The same goes for paulgreenstein it would be great to have a further conversation with you and what people are looking for. Thanks for all the responces Kathryn

Just wanted to test the waters and find out if there is a demand for a bed and breakfast?

Perhaps we could start a new thread. Is Green and Blue the best wine bar in East Dulwich? Would that help the google search thing. I like it alot.

Hiya So Mark has kindly allowed space in the forum tent at the festival for a table of cakes from the WI. It might be better for someone who is actually going to be there on the day to communicate further with him about how that is going to work. As you may have understood from an earier post it does not seem possible for us to have a dedicated WI bit of the forum (although it doesnt stop us from using it).

Cycling charter from the evening standard
Kathryn replied to beatnic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its not exactly enforced if it is. I find it very scary when driving to have cyclists that dont wear anything of protection, no helmet, no lights and no bright yellow vis clothing. I dont think they know how invisable they can be especially at dusk and at night, even some of the bikes that have lights on them are no good. Other than that I think the charter is a great idea. Did you read the bit about how it took one couple and hour and a half to cycle from islington to east dulwich (the Parmaston) because the info they got from the website was so poor they kept getting lost. (mind you they were also a bit scathing about coming south of the river!) Any way sorry charter good. I have many many friends who cycle to work and this would be a good thing. -
Thats great Ruth.

I would quite like to come and find out what its all about to please. If there is room for another. Perhaps you should warn them we are coming. In fact by the response you have had maybe there are a lot of people you should warn. Its a great idea well done.

Residential Parking Zones in streets off LL
Kathryn replied to mixulee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
For goodness sake. Dont be crazy and ask for CPZ. Look at your street and just start to add up how many cars might be there ligitimly. Take into account some families have two cars, some houses are flats so may have more than one car to the building. There will always be the odd non resident car but BUT BUT. CPZ does not garentee you a space, it does not mean you will be able to park any nearer to your house, what it does mean is that you will have to pay for the privalage of not beeing able to park outside your house. Any vistors, parents, friend, handymen or other people for any reason coming to your house will not be able to park on your street even let alone near your house depending on how far the zone goes unless you pay even more money to get a vistor permit. Even then it does not garentee them/you a space. Please please do not ask for something that will change nothing and cost you extra money give you no benift. Oh it makes me upset to think about it. Have lived in CPZ before I promise it is no good thing. -
Sorry to not get back to this thread sooner. Thats fantastic you wont mind us being nosey and having a look around. I promise to bring a bottle of bubbly and make appropriate wow noises. Good Luck with everything.

What sort of filming did you do. Is it modern or period inside?

I think you should print this off and post it to her to. It shows how worried you were about it, how sad it has made you in discovering that has been the only neghbourly communication and the outragesness of her request. Post Post Post

I definately think its a choice between cannon and nikon. Ive got a 20D which is brilliant. The 350D 400D and 30D are all worth looking at as is the nikon D50 and D80. All depends on you budget. Look around for good deals, I bought my 20D from Jacobs it was secondhand reconditioned from cannon. And its lovely. Buy a few which and what camera mags they are always doing comparisons but my advice get your hands on them in a shop. Its amazing how different they all feel and good advice from shop assistant can be good to talk through the other things involved ie lenses ect. I found the guys in jacobs on new oxfod street seemed to have more time than the ones in jessops. The is also a fantastic nikon shop grays of westminster. Good luck -

I'll chip in a fiver. Ive got three camping chairs I could bring along. Not quite as posh as a sofa though. Love the idea of it being the Quite room or the lounge. -

Very sadly it doesnt look like I am going to be able to make it. Very sad about this. Have a great snapping evening (not too long in the pub!) -
Mother Superior DM This is great news. I will buy mine this Saturday in anticipation for Monday morning. Now the next important question is which drink will be the first. Will it be a lunch time checky cold glass of rose. A glass of bubbly to celebrate Easter and the end of abstenance. I naughty bloody mary at breakfast or a longer wait untill the evening. On reflection about the wimple. I think even after a dozen times around my rosary I might not have been forgiven enough to don one. Not unless we do a forum easter sound of music show!

Could download your pictures and put them onto a disk for you? The fingers are totllay recovered if that helps, good luck with the toe. -
Forgive me You have certinally made me see sence. The bob is now certinally out of the question. It is not long now and I'm almost a little fearful of having two glasses of wine and being completly squiffy. The wimple in these cercumstances may not create quite the right impression although I admire anyone who carrys it off. Have you found any good glasses? One week to go Kathryn
