  2. Used a couple of times. £10
  3. They are doing it because the government has been decreasing their budget year on year but the council still has to deliver services. They have to get money somehow. I'm sure you know that but it bears repeating again and again.
  4. This has long been a problem and you are right to be suspicious of a member new to the forum who writes a glowing review of a tradesman.
  5. The menu outside the restaurant looks better than the take away one.
  6. I was walking along, in a hurry to meet a friend at the picture house. Two mothers with double buggies were strolling along and I couldn't get past them. I said excuse me , could I go past and they turned round astonished and pointed out there was no room to get past. I said yes, so perhaps you could go single file for a little bit so I can go past. Why should we do that? they asked. So I could get past I repeated. They let me past and I heard them bad mouthing me ......
  7. Hi-its always worth using the search bar above. You will see a few recommendations. I used Soundproofing R Us. They were very good and the problem has been solved
  8. last time I reported a street light out they repaired it within 24 hours
  9. The answer to your first question is because it had been raining hard. I live a minute from Lordship Lane-walk down it most days and have never noticed a problem with the pavements. However the shop keepers you mention are certainly cutting down safe walking space in various ways and bicyclists on the pavement are a hazard.
  10. www.catcuddles.org.uk/rehoming-cats This is a lovely organisation in Plumstead who hopefully should be able to help you.
  11. "It is named after Charles Barry and is said to be exactly one mile long. Barry designed Dulwich Park, to which the road leads. Westerfield Road became Barry Road in 1867." I think it was a sort of grand avenue for carriages for the likes of Queen Victoria who came to Dulwich Park to admire the rhododendrons
  12. is it an NHS letter? Apparently the new computer system at Kings and Guys is generating letters to people who lived at addresses up to 30 years ago.
  13. Perhaps more important than where things are-there are now no recycling facilities
  14. Just had lunch there. Awful, cold and claggy as in post above, more or less covers it.
  15. Lovely plumber, talked me through everything and fixed the problem. Will definitely use again
