  1. Great fun as a child - seem to remember hosepipe bans, but my grandfather filled up a small tub big enough to dunk me in occasionally in the garden.
  2. I'm unable to host unfortunately, but here are a couple of websites for the Ukrainian community which might be of interest: https://ukrainianlondon.co.uk/ https://ukrainianinstitute.org.uk https://www.facebook.com/augblondon/
  3. Rewrite the Ministerial Code so we never have to suffer a rogue Prime Minister again - Sign the Petition - @openbritainhq #StopTheRot https://actionstorm.org/petitions/ministerialcode?ref=409834
  4. Nextdoor East Dulwich - both free & for sale items. Haven't tried it though as have always preferred the EDF community.
  5. Many thanks for your advice. I've still got some time, but time's flying!! mancity68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We are just back and did NOT need to show the pass > when returning to UK. 6. I have a query about flying back into UK from EU - do you need to show covid pass to check-in/board?? I am trying to work out the NHS Covid Pass - paper one is valid 30 days from date of request (rather than issue) which means cutting it fine to receive it in time bearing in mind weekends & Jubilee bank holidays. I'm getting paper one as my phone likely won't cope with digital one (v tempermental!).
  7. Mhairi Black MP - just watched this very eloquent and passionate speech from earlier this week. Much-needed message well-delivered.
  8. This unfortunate little one has been coming into my garden for the last few days - eating & flying well, but almost completely bald head! Dr Google suggests mites or stress might have caused this, and apparently it should clear up in a month or so or during next moult. Thought I would post just in case anyone else in Underhill/Horniman area spots him.

  12. Morning all, I was wondering what your experience of fares for airport transfers from ED to Heathrow T5 have been this year. My usual provider (last used 2019) has doubled in price and I would be interested in hearing others' experiences. Many thanks.

  14. Received 8th April. Pay by DD, band C. Perhaps rolling out band by band?
  15. Something fun for the family - songbird soundboard: 'What time do birds start to sing? Have you often wondered who is singing outside your window when you wake up, and how long they have been at it? Birds use sunrise and the increasing daylight as an indication of when it is time to sing, and in perfect harmony they begin in a certain order. Starting with usually a single bird species closely followed by others when their time is right; and like a beautifully conducted orchestra you should be able to enjoy this bird concert every morning in the same order. Birds start well before sunrise and the earliest is the Robin so you will have to be prepared to listen out quite early to hear him performing solo. Birds sing mainly in the breeding season, so you will hear males trying to impress females in order to build nests in the first half of the year with peak singing activity between April and June. Click on each bird individually in the chart below to hear their song and you can also see an indication of when they start to sing in the morning - it's not called the Dawn Chorus for nothing!' https://www.birdfood.co.uk/bird-song?utm_campaign=2190892_International%20Dawn%20Chorus&utm_medium=email&utm_source=CJ%20WildBird%20Foods%20Limited&dm_i=4K7A,1AYI4,6ASLVC,60S90,1

Their username and profile picture may look just like the support account, but?crucially?they don?t have the verified badge that any official account will have. Some scammers may include the verified badge in their profile picture, but users should not fall for this. Posing as the official WhatsApp account, the scammers may ask users for personal information. They may ask for a verification code to gain access to their account details or might even ask for their credit card details, as proof of ID. How to report a WhatsApp scammer If a scammer posing as the WhatsApp account contacts you, you should block and report them. Report a scammer by long pressing on a single message, opening the context menu, and hitting ?report.? When you report an account, WhatsApp will receive the last five messages sent to you, as well as the user?s ID and details about the message, such as when it was sent, and the type of message. To block them, open the chat and simply tap ?block?. They will no longer be able to send you messages.'

As another 'lone woman' I would prefer to have the noise assessed and dealt with speedily than my sleep/comfort/wellbeing affected by noisy eejits nextdoor.

Who knew Jacob Rees-Mogg could sink even lower, 'Rwanda asylum plan is ?almost Easter story of redemption?, says Rees-Mogg' [https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/apr/17/uk-asylum-seekers-plan-rwanda-jacob-rees-mogg]. Seeking to justify the policy in Christianity is akin to the former South African government seeking to justify Apartheid by relying on the Bible. The man is no christian. And more details of the deal emerge: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/rwanda-asylum-seekers-refugees-uk-b2060008.html - ?Immoral trade in human beings?: UK slammed for deporting asylum seekers in return for Rwanda refugees Ministers also criticised for planning to send modern slavery victims to east African country despite condemning its failure to support trafficked people only last year
  22. For future reference Southwark Noise Team will come out at pretty much any time of day (although slight difference in service between weekend and weekdays) and now can come indoors again to assess noise. As summer develops they can also assess noise in gardens. They assess noise during daylight hours as well as evening/night. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/noise-and-antisocial-behaviour/noise-and-nuisance Phone if it is ongoing and they aim to call back within an hour, or report online in retrospect and they'll contact you within 3 working days.

See below/link for petition & link to write to MP: /forum/read.php?20,2271469 I am disgusted and sickened by Johnson & Patel. The Government have been thinking about this for some years, but it has always been shelved due to opposition across the board. Sadly the tories are not the first either. When I was in practice Blair toyed with the idea but abandoned it as it was deeply unpopular and unworkable [https://qarn.org.uk/off-shoring-people-seeking-asylum-is-not-a-new-idea/]. The idea of sending asylum seekers in need of international protection to Rwanda, a country with a very questionable human rights record and recent history of genocide, beggars belief. The Guardian has a good article: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/14/rwanda-human-rights-fears-paul-kagame UNHCR's response reported: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/apr/15/un-refugee-agency-condemns-johnsons-rwanda-asylum-plan
