Council noise team. Can you identify where they're coming from? Phone anyway as someone else might also have reported and they'll be able to work out where it is better the more reports they have. Years ago I phoned about noise after 1am and they said my call had helped them locate the address.

Hi Tia, Are you on a fixed plan or are you on the EDF standard rate? In my experience it is normal for the EDF computer to try to up your direct debit following a meter reading/bill. It doesn't mean you cannot negotiate it down again to a level you can afford each month. I had a monthly DDR of ?50 for years and every time the DDR was automatically raised (to amounts I did not want to pay out each month) I phoned EDF and negotiated it back to where it was. At the time I used my ISA savings to pay any excess on individual bills and the customer service agents were happy for me to do this to clear my bill. Unfortunately, last time I had to choose a fixed rate the only option I could afford was a ?98 pcm direct debit, but I haven't had to pay more and EDF automatically refunded the debit accrued. God only knows what it will be in April when the current fixed deal comes to an end - not looking forward to that shock at all! You are also entitled to request any monies held as a debit to be returned to you and EDF will even automatically return debits, as I found out recently. However, the benefit of accruing a debit during the warmer months of the year is that it helps to cover the increased bills in the colder months. There is no need to go to court or let it enrage you, it is just a question of systematically negotiating the automatic (computer-led) increase back down to a level you can afford. I suggest calling EDF as I always managed to keep control of my DDR amount in the past, as have other family members with the computer's attempts to increase their DDRs. As long as you can show the customer services agent that you have a history of clearing any additional costs there should not be a problem. Maybe other EDF customers will have some alternative suggestions.

Just tell them they're making baby pigeons!! It's perfectly natural. Your kids will take it on board and ignore it.

Abusive people in Dulwich Park just now

Legally, anyone under the age of 18 years is a minor, that is a child, whether or not that minor is mature for their age or not. Two 'mature' adults bullying a teenager, child or adult is unacceptable and maybe you should have focused on that. -

I went to the Rosendale Rd centre this morning for a booked appointment. Masssive queue for booked appointments (heading all along the shops past The Sicilian deli and round the corner into a side road) and also a queue for those without appointment. As I'm disabled and couldn't stand in a queue I felt rather overwhelmed and gave up when my return taxi arrived. I'm now trying to rebook an appointment. Update: I had to wait until this morning to rebook, but (in comparison to yesterday) got through to online booking very quickly early this morning for an appointment next Monday. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!! Fingers' crossed the Boris effect will have reduced next week.

I have a large letter (Stylist subscription?) for J Bresson, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Underhill Rd, SE22 0QP which has ended up with me at the South Circular end of Underhill. The postcode relates to the area above the cemetery but I have no more information than that for the correct destination address. I thought I would try on here before handing it back to the postman.

Direct link to fundraising page: https://gogiveone.org/ 'As we get into the spirit of giving this festive season, how about a gift that could save a life ? a Covid-19 vaccine for a person in need? Created by the WHO Foundation, Go Give One is a campaign to fund vaccines in the world?s poorest countries. Almost 7 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered globally but just 3 per cent of people in low-income countries have had a jab. With the risk of mutations like Omicron, vaccine inequity and rising infection rates impact us all. For a donation of as little as ?4, Go Give One will buy a Covid-19 vaccine for someone in the world who needs it. The campaign hopes to get 50 million people around the world to participate over the Christmas season. Getty Images Dr Thato Mosehle, an advocate for Go Give One, says that ?we live in a world of the haves and have nots and it is unfortunate that we are seeing the same trend when it comes to the Covid-19 vaccines. Without truly equitable access to the life-saving vaccines, we will never be able to curb the threat of the new variants, which ultimately affects us all.? The Omicron variant was identified last week in southern Africa, where vaccination rates are still low. All donations made by December 31 will be matched by the ELMA Vaccines and Immunization Foundation, organisers say, packing this virtuous stocking filler with even more of a punch.'
