Democracy, like society, is not static DF. To quote a Brexiteer, 'If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy' (David Davis MP, 9/11/12 during his speech 'Europe:it's time to decide'. Given the pig's ear Cameron, May and the Government have made of Brexit, the people have a right to look at Brexit again and even change their mind if they choose to.

Don't worry, everything's going to be fine - Uri Geller's on the case ... 'Uri Geller promises to stop Brexit using telepathy Illusionist has told Theresa May he will ?not allow? her to lead Britain out of the EU' https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/22/uri-geller-promises-to-stop-brexit-using-telepathy

  12. The lack of communication and planning for something happening in a couple of weeks is appalling. They don't seem to have thought this through very well - - We are not all in one family residences, some of us in flats or houses in multiple occupation share our brown bins. - Brown bins in HMOS are often used for garden work done in the common ways rather than just private gardens - Where there are privately or social housing rented properties does the landlord pay for the brown bins? - Where a mix of rented and owner-occupied properties in a building, does each resident apply and pay for own bin (seems bound to clog the streets), share or just use the ones with stickers on? Seems bound for potential neighbour disputes. Did they even bother to canvas opinions? I had not heard anything before this thread.
  13. Yes, do report to police. When I lived in Dollis Hill we used to have to run the gauntlet of various touts, dealers etc which was very daunting to cross and scary walking home. The local police stepped up their presence in the evenings which made such a difference.
  14. Petition site back up Latest number: 747,851
  15. Currently 'Petitions is down for maintenance. Please try again later' Please do and spread the word.
  16. Very pleased she's home again safe and sound. My CKD cat has to have a wet renal diet for digestive reasons, but likes Royal Canin (esp. the beef, sometimes the tuna, but not the chicken) and the various Beaphar pates. There is quite a choice out there (have a look a the various options on Zooplus, for example). Beaphar also does Renal treats (limited, but P enjoys them).
  17. Update on details for the march next week.
  18. Always have some cash on me, but use debit card as well. Would hate to live in a cashless society. Only place I tap is on BA for food as they no longer take cash on board (except for charity donation), otherwise I prefer to put in my pin.
  19. Had a few pre-recorded calls over the last week. Put phone down. Have had them in the past, but just started again.
  20. Lavender, there's lots of good information and advice out there if you are concerned (Alzheimers Society etc.). The BBC Horizon series did a very good documentary on Alzheimers which is available on YouTube and the Mayo Clinic has interesting information on research (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/alzheimers-disease/in-depth/alzheimers-treatments/art-20047780). It is more likely that you were feeing tired after a busy day. We all forget why we have gone into the kitchen/upstairs etc. I'm always doing it.
  21. Wonderful news. Are all of the dogs involved accounted for now?
  22. Join us on 23rd of March for the ?Put It To The People March? to make the calls for a People?s Vote too loud to ignore. On the 23rd of March, just six days before the Government hopes to take Britain out of the EU, hundreds of thousands of people will march on Parliament offering a solution to a crisis that threatens their living standards, businesses and jobs. We demand a People?s Vote, and come 23 March, it could be a case of now or never. Please sign up to join us. We will be congregating from 12pm, high noon in Park Lane, and marching to Parliament Square to make our voices heard. Our demand is a simple one: that any Brexit is put the people so that we can have the final say. This will be a day to tell your children about, to tell your grandchildren about. Join us. See website at: https://www.peoples-vote.uk/march Details When? Saturday 23rd March 2019. Assemble at 12pm noon for 1pm start. Where? Meet on Park Lane (southbound carriageway), north of the Hilton Hotel. Click here for map How? If traveling by Tube, please exit at Marble Arch or Hyde Park Corner.
  23. Last week we had no joy, but today we found a complete Guardian at the Co-op LL. Sainsburys at Dulwich Library did not have any. Last week we were told that the driver had no inserts loaded on the van.

That reminds me of a birthday cake (and other delicious birthday goodies) left on a bus near here a few years ago - someone had a very nice non-birthday celebration that day!!

Mental. Needless to say having > made my own enquiries I never found the car key. Times have changed. Police lost property offices used to take everything. My mother recently lost her camera in Brighton and some kind soul had handed it into the local police station. She was very happy to be reunited with it, but when she returned to try to hand in a key she had found they said that they no longer had the time, space or resources.
