  1. There are plenty of trustworthy providers - it just depends what you'd like to study. If you google Moocs you'll find a range of free accredited courses from around the world (including the Open University, various universities, Reed etc.). As an example see: https://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/free-short-online-courses - free short courses from Edinburgh university and https://www.open.edu/openlearn/free-courses - courses from the OU

Thanks all. They are coming to Underhill below Melford Rd stop, but were thinking about stopping off on LL to pick up something en route. They might decide to take overland to PR and 363 down instead. It does feel rather like a magical mystery tour, you're right Applespider!
  3. Presumably best way for visitor arriving from Clapham Junction tomorrow is either to get to LL and take P13 or overground to Peckham Rye & 363?
  4. You can print pdfs from this site for various sights and transport: https://romemap360.com/rome-tourist-map#.XFxSLM3grIU Also have a look at the official Rome Tourism website (what's on, area guides etc etc): http://www.turismoroma.it/?lang=en
  5. A delivery driver said that he had to come round the back way to Underhill earlier as roads closed on and around Lordship Lane.
  6. I'm hearing gurgling and the cistern seems to be filling up - touch wood things are finally getting sorted out and we'll have water up and unning again soon!
  7. Update from TW website: 'SE22 - We're working hard in your area Last updated 4th Febuary, 2019 - 12:00am. We're working hard on site. Our specialist engineers have now arrived in Lordship Lane and we are working hard to get your water supply back to normal as quick as possible. As soon as we have an update, we'll let you know. If you need an extra helping hand find out how our Priority Services (https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/customer-commitment/priority-services) can help. We're always here to talk about your needs, whether they are medical, financial or something else. We'll be posting updates here, so check back when you can for the latest news.'
  8. Thanks for that. I will report as well. - Recorded messsage on phone call following confirmation of postcode - TW aware of problem in area and team currently onsite investigating. Maybe experiencing low pressure/no water.
  9. Just turned on cold water taps and I have no water. Is anyone else affected?

    Noisy builders

Oh God, sounds horrible. You can make a complaint online to the noise team at Southwark after the incident which would get it on record in case there are any further problems. I had a noisy builder next door to me last year who thought he was entitled to blast his radio because 'he was working'. After the noise team visited him he spent the rest of the afternoon bashing the floor although at that stage he had only been called back to fix a hole in the wall which had been left on a previous day. They can be very intimidating.

    Noisy builders

You can ask the builders if they have Section 61 consent to work beyond those hours. The Noise Team were very helpful when I had a similar problem.
  13. You can rearrange delivery online (https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/redeliver) for a day when you know someone will be in. I never go to the sorting office - especially after the recent debacle.

  15. Are there any local catsitters who might have a cat stay at their home as an alternative to a cattery?

Good Luck Adding to Pugwash's advice, Cambridge House have a very good flowchart for advocacy support under the Care Act which may be of assistance (http://ch1889.org/our-work/advocacy/advocacy-services-southwark/). CH may be able to offer some advice on advocacy support in your parents' area and what to expect/ask.
  17. I think I would book her a holiday as well. Given the noise, dust and strangers in and out of a house under 'major building work' I would not want to traumatise the cat. It could cause all sorts of issues in keeping her safe and sound while you're away. As well as asking the vet, you could check out this old thread on local catteries: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1404648. There might be some others on the Forum as well.

  21. Touch wood, post is gradually getting back to normal. I'm also at Horniman/LL end of Underhill.
  22. Will PF confirm the name of the sender? Just in case it is from a long-lost relative/friend. Otherwise I agree with ianr to put the responsibility back onto PF.

    Happy Christmas!

And a happy Christmas and a lovely New Year to you too. Best wishes to one and all.
  24. I can recommend the team at the Neighbourhood Vets on Lordship Lane - I have mainly seen Topaz, Rory and Laura. I have a cat, but we are frequent flyers due to chronic health problems and I meet lots of happy dog owners in reception. The vets, nurses and receptionists are interested in their patients and look after us very well.
  25. I was at the vets when you brought Charlie in - what a lucky dog to have been looked after by you all! Lovely to see a happy ending.
