  1. It shows a lack of reflection ability - do they not think about the impression they give others.
  2. Not considered an appropriate word to use these days - but my view when I hear it is why should I act as verbal policeman - I just consider if I really want to associate with people that speak like that (as my mother would say).
  3. Thanks - So the police know who they are but can't prove it ?

Anyway after 18 months of French on Duolingo I'm sure I can cope with the French Quarter.

  7. Borg was a baseliner and so were others of that era like Connors until that McEnroe appeared on the scene.

  14. try creating a "new in private window" on microsoft edge or chrome (CTRL+SHIFT+N) and going to it from there - to rule out cookies etc. you can also delete all cookies for a site by right clicking on the lock (which shouldn't be there if it's not secure - but noticed I got redirected to a secure site)
  15. I'm doing 30 mins peloton bike a day and now have started doing the strength classes too - I didn't realise what a difference these little (1.5Kg) weights and balance exercises on the floor and standing can do. Still have a couple of cans of Brewdog in the evening but nothing like pre lockdown. Losing weight and toning a bit (I fit into a suit from 10 years ago).

Will the Tories even add the extra 1.25% to the 2% zone You could have 13.25% or 12% all the way or 13.25% then 3.25% But I reckon it'll be 13.25% then 2%

  18. As children we always asked for and got the batter scraps from our local chippy. Forgot until I saw that. You'd have though we were starving :)
  19. The "Cinderella line" group who seem based in Crofton Park said they will lose half their trains from September 6th https://www.acinderellaline.com/single-post/taking-it-back Not sure if any other cuts happening on that date.
  20. I'm sure we can all drink some knock off Carling in Spoons and nobody will really notice much difference.
  21. I don't think we'll be back into the decision making side for a long time. The single market and a better relationship with them maybe sooner.
  22. My SKY is OK - I have 80 down 20 up (FTTC) bandwidth and medium latency (enough to play call of duty). If you only have basic ADSL try a new splitter ? Also run the Sky tests and see if they find anything.

When I was a youngster I loved reading what people had written in second hand books. But that was before social media :)
  24. What happened to the second hand book stores of my youth - they were a treasure trove back then - the local one to me was called "Ralph the Books"
  25. and talking of trade ambassadors - what's Tony Abbott done for us recently.
